More to love about that state! New law goes into affect about left lane campers which carries a max of 500 dollar fine.
http://www.21alive.com/news/local/New-laws-are-ready-to-go-on-the-books-impacting-highway-travel-in-Hoosier-state-311027261.html Another new motor vehicle law, which has stirred some controversy, seeks to force slower highway drivers out of the fast lane.
Police will now be able to ticket motorists who tend to camp out in the left lane of a divided highway, blocking faster moving vehicles which are waiting behind to pass. "You see a lot of folks who will pass on the right hand side if there's a slower car in the left hand lane, which is incredibly dangerous, it contributes to a lot of road rage," said State Representative David Ober from Noble County, who pushed through the change. He claims about 75 percent of constituents tell him they like the law, but he has heard naysayers complain about it. There's the fear officers will ticket the left lane drivers, and let speeders off the hook who run way over the limit. Ober doesn't see that happening. "I think that this law will force those distracted drivers to be more considerate and get them over into a lane where they're not causing other drivers to do things that are equally dangerous on the roads," he said. After driving from Indianapolis to Louisville and back last week, I'm not sure how they are going to enforce that. There aren't enough cops. I've never seen so many clueless left lane campers in my life. I was asked my friend if the whole left lane for passing thing didn't apply there since it seemed so prevalent.

I'll ride the left lane if there's no traffic, Indiana has the worst roads in the US by far.

View Quote I-65 from Indy to Louisville is the worst. Every time I'm on that road, I pass at least half a dozen cars on the right. I once had to follow this dumb bitch for 20 miles due to lack of passing distance in the right. She would run 80 in the open and then slow to 65-70 while passing cars that were on the right. It needs to be 3 lanes wide... I would say 75% of the morons are out of staters. Minnesota seem to be the worst at staying in the left. |

Passing lane, not a fast lane.
I know I am beating my head against a wall, but you pass in the left lane. If you are not passing, regardless of your speed, get back in the right lane. |

I only remember it being 70 for a short amount of time. That also surprised me. Most interstates here are 70 or 75 after you are a mile of so out of a big city. If you meant age wise, now that I think about it, you are right. Why are there so many old people on that route? |
