Boy, they should check some of the off-duty officers drinking habits, to say nothing of elected officials and judges.

story

Drunk PA Judge gets $6900 a month disability

wow, wonder if he lost his license?

Anyone want to argue against the idea that we are ALL criminals in the eyes of the state?

It's just a matter of finding the right combination of laws to enforce against the individual.

I really HATE what this nation is becoming.

Okay, I'm one of the first people in line to smack around a drunk DRIVER. But while I myself do not drink, (plus I'm a "liberal") even _I_ think this is totally phoqued up.

This far exceeds ridicules.

Just a matter of time before every new car has a breathalizer ignition system, a black box, and gps tracking device.

George Orwell would be so proud of us.

so........
the average liver metabolizes a drink an hour.
this guy finishes his day and has 6 beers from, lets say 1830 hrs to 2200 hrs.
heck, say he drank till 2300 hrs, by 0500 or so, he's ok based on current medical guidelines/thinking.
he "MAY" feel less than 100%, but his blood alcohol level will clearly be lower than the legal limit, way lower. his driving ability hasn't been questioned, he hasn't taken any test to assess whether he has any level of impairment. he hasn't been observed by law enforcement to be driving eratically.

this is pre-crime in action. this is just wrong. it's bullshit.
