Quoted: I just bought a Vinci tuner for my C5, I highly reccomend it. Very versatile and if you do mod your car it can keep retuning for you. Very simple to use too.
In five minutes this morning I installed the basic hi-perf tune and it made a HUGE difference in my car's performance.
Is that an LS6 or 7?

Please don't take this the wrong way, but can you quantify this in some way?
One of the reasons I went to the track with a 100% stock car is to get a baseline for possible future mods. I'm also going to pony up the $200+/- for a dyno tune to see what the best RWHP my 100% stock car is capable of. With the baseline 1/4 mile time and dyno slip I'll have a way to actually measure and quantify the effects of any mods. It won't be totally scientific due to things like weather and altitude, but it will be alot better than seat-of-the-pants reporting.

That's all I have to go by is my seat of the pants dyno but I will tell you this, no bullshit.
I have had the car a month and I've been to the strip once with it and put about 2,000 miles on it of all types of driving. Lots of that hard driving and I was sceptical about the value of the handheld tuner before I tried it.
The moment I turned the key after the install I knew it was different. It growled and sounded different at idle and when I took it for a drive it was just obviously running better and pulling harder all throught power band. It breaks the tires loose much easier now even from a rolling start, say 15mph. That's with traction control ON! The change wasnt subtle, it was very noticable. I would guess close to 20 ft lbs of torque which is not uncommon with a tune measured on the dyno. I feel I got lucky but anyone who I've spokenb with who has this tuner is quite pleased.
Take this with a grain of salt, not all cars are the same and not all handhelds are the same and neither are all dynos the same. Some cars come from the factory that will not benefit much others will get more from a tune. This is true even for a dyno tune.
I highly reccomend the Crane/Vinci tuner through my experience with my car.
ETA: A dyno tune will you 400+$
