Here's the dilemma...

Help me spend my money...

I want either one of these, but I can't decide which one.

Kel-Tec
PROS:

Already have plenty of mags and ammo.

Uses the same mags and ammo as my AR's

CONS:

$100 more expensive

DRACO
PROS:
$100 Cheaper

Mags and ammo are much less expensive

Can pick up locally

CONS:

Will need to pick up a supply of mags and ammo in addition to the gun.

Mags and ammo not interchangeable with the AR

That was the answer to my last question. "Buy a house or a new gun?"

I asked this same question not long ago in SF.

I got the Kel Tec.

Commonality with existing platforms in ammo and mags, accessories.

Made in the US. Great customer service if there is an issue.

Lighter, but still a piston gun.

More accurate (I don't have a Draco so I'm going by heresay...).

You can still SBR it if you want. But I can conceal it if it's a pistol.

Not saying I wouldn't want a Draco, but I think of it more as a toy. YMMV.

ETA: FWIW seems like that $100 you 'save' will go towards different mags, accessories and ammo.

Also, almost forgot. IIRC the Draco barrel is not threaded for a FH, the KT is. I think you'll want a good FH...

I also have a suppressor for .223, not that it would help that much on something that short. Or am I wrong?

Might not be warrantied on a barrel that short.

Are you going to use it like a range toy or are you going to use it like a drunk blonde at a dorm party?

General kicking around gun. Something to throw in the car when I want something with a little more "oomph" than my 9mm handguns, but don't necessarily need one of the AR's.

And of course it will pull double duty as a range toy.

Both are a great value for what you get.

Although if I had to get ONE, I'd get the Draco. 7.62x39 suffers way less from a short barrel than 5.56 does.

I have a 223 can that I use on my 10.3" Bushy SBR. It cuts down on the flash and sound dramatically. With the can, it sounds like your typical 10/22 shooting high-velocity 22 LR. Without the can, well, you don't want to be shooting it without earplugs and earmuffs. And it throws a cylinder of flame about 12" in diameter, 2-3 feet long. Looks really cool at night.
My can is rated for 223 full-auto. The manufacturer said I could do pretty much anything with it.
I've had the same dilemma as you in the past. I'm leaning towards the Kel-Tec. As another post noted, I could pick up a Krink someday, since Class III toys are easy to own in Utah too.
