Just watched a flick named 'Downfall' about the last days of Hitler. Very good movie! It's a German made movie and is subtitled, but it's really worth watching.

A German actor named Bruno Ganz does a remarkable portrayal of Hitler and is a ringer for him in the looks department. It's not hard to believe you are watching ol Adolf himself.

If you can handle subtitles and lots of authentic firearms, I highly suggest you rent this movie. I got it through Blockbusters online rental service.

Ditto. It really did seem like you were watching the events of 60 years ago instead of a re enactment.

Okay I had to bump this thread up because I watched this recently and it looked to me like guards in the bunker had AKs.  Obviously that wouldn't be right... so either they messed that up or I am wrong about the type of gun, they sure looked like AKs but they could have been something else.

Anyone happen to know?

Good movie…

I would like to reach back in time and be able to get my hands on Joseph and Frau Goebbels.

Wasn't it interesting that she could off her kids with no emotion...but Hitler decides to end it and she loses her composure?

Sick people.

Love and own that movie.

I like the movie because it really paints these people as "people" not some far out there sci-fi monsters that were special in some way.  Real evil often comes from folks that are doing what they believe is "RIGHT".  I could easily see how some people got caught-up in the NAZI movement and loyalty to Hitler, and that is the REAL lesson that comes from that movie.

The movie also does a great job of protraying the real fear Germans had of the Soviets that were in fact as brutal if not more brutal than even the SS during the war.  I also like the fact that not every NAZI is a concentration camp type and in fact are normal people who are Germans and caught up in the war.

GOOD MOVIE....FIVE OUT FIVE STARS.

Just got done watching it.  It is REALLY hard not to just hit "PLAY" again, call in to work, and watch the whole thing again.

One of the best of the current WWII flicks.

I love how the film touches on the different segments of the NAZI movement in the last days....especially the Youth Corps.  VERY interesting.

For those of you who have not seen it, it can be found in the FORIEGN FILMS section of your local video joint like Blockbuster or Hollywood Video.

OUTSTANDING FILM.

ETA:  SERIOUSLY, one of the best films I have seen in years.
