What is the point of using the 300lb cop to play in traffic? Of all the agile people capable of quickly getting out of the way, he isn't one of them. This is in L.A. so they probably figure that the car will lose. LOS ANGELES -- Getting on this Santa's naughty list will get you more than coal in your stocking -- you could get a traffic ticket, too. Wednesday morning the LAPD is posting a 300-pound cop in a Santa suit at a San Fernando Valley crosswalk. Other officers will be watching for drivers who don't yield to Santa. Violators will be stopped and issued warnings or citations. Police say the undercover Santa is part of the Holiday Traffic Awareness Plan. The crosswalk targeted for enforcement has been the scene of two pedestrian fatalities. www.thewgalchannel.com/news/1842558/detail.html

ummmmmm.......no. What this means is that the officer will periodically cross at the crosswalk and drivers who do not yield to him will be pulled over (presumably by an officer in a squad car) and cited.

So much for the theory of Santa burning up at supersonic speeds to deliver the presents...
