Dogs are totally dependant on their masters and willingly submit to servitude for food. They willing submit to mistreatment and come back wagging their tails as long they are fed.

Cats, while realizing their masters are a necessary evil, prefer independance and would rather be left alone except when they absolutely need their masters for something. Treat them bad and they will attack.

Discuss.

Dogs are also loyal and useful.  Cats generally serve no useful purpose other than to be a pain in the ass to everyone around them.

Not true. Smart dogs usually avoid cats after their first encounter. While I'm sure there are cases of dogs eating cats, most times when a dog attacks a cat he gets his nose handed to him all bloody.

That is certainly true of my old cat... neighborhood German sheperd sniffed him once, got her nose scratched... and both animals went at full speed in opposite directions.

ETA: The only thing my cat was not afraid of was small kittens and butterflies, and he never passed up a chance to beat up on either.

Dogs will also take care of you when sick.  Cats are just 'I don't care if your sick, I want food now, its all about me and my needs.'

Dogs, 'Oh, your sick, thats not good.  Come, I can forgo eating for today, you rest and I'll keep you warm.'  *time passes by and your chest gets exposed to the cold air*

Dog: Oh no, he's gonna get sicker!  *crawls up and acts like a blanket to keep your pneamonia (sp) from getting worse.*

FYI:  My dog did that.  Knew I was very sick, didn't complain to go out or eat.  When the blanket exposed my chest to the cold apartment air, I woke up with his body across my chest keeping me warm.

Dogs are republicans, they are just in the "pack" aka the military

They are loyal to family and will fight off threats.  A cat will to jack if someone breaks in your house.  Dogs are ALWAYS on alert; I've never heard of a watch cat.

Besides dogs can hunt with you, drink with you and will do as commanded.  A cat is always self centered and doesn't care about anything else just like democraps.

Sounds like a pussy dog to me.  My dog was tormented by my moms cat when he was a puppy and  I moved back in temporarily ( I was 19 at the time).  He got all scratched up.  Now he would literally eat a cat if he could.  He despises them and literally has no fear of any animal regardless of size.  He is very smart besides his huge self image.  Well there is one thing he is scared of.  He isn't fond of baloons .

While cats are clever at times they are not as smart as canines.  I am only speaking of the household variety.  I'm just going off of what I learned in animal behavior.  I have a BS in Zoology.

Anyways here is a pic of my pooch enjoying a snack:

Ha! First sensible post here, BUT, your dogs are trained while most pet dogs are not and your dogs would have to be LRRPs to sneak up on or catch my cat.

And they are tools of your training, like the demo sheep, while my cat retains her independance and refuses to be trained by her governor.

Pooby hon, my dogs are trained NOT to kill cats.  The desire to kill them is inherant.  Just last fall I had my dog point a cat and hand retrieve it to me - kicking and flinging its claws every which way.  How I wish I had a camera for that!  But seriously, Dogs are at the top of the food chain in regards to common house cats.  At least most sporting dogs are.  Patty

That doesnt change the fact I am right. Just because a dog may be tougher, or stronger than a cat doesnt mean he is unwilling to subjugate himself to his master for food.

Cats on the dole… never working a day in their lives. Welfare kitties.

Jeeze does that mean the gerbil I had as a kid was really smart also?  He never listened to anything I said .

A cat is more independent because domesticated cats still act on their instincts way more than dogs, and they just aren't as social of a species.

It's fact that canines are smarter.  Do a little research.  It really won't take much to prove yourself wrong.  I'm not trying to burst your bubble.

The mere fact that dogs are CAPABLE of being trained show they are more evolved than cats.

You need to look up the word "domestication."

Dogs are capable of being trained and learning because they have a greater capacity for intelligence.

Cats are not of the same capacity but simply "politically independent" as you suggest. By that token sheep must be Constitutionalists because they can't be trained to do a fucking thing.
