Does your wife/girlfriend have your safe combo?

I know two guys who gave their wife their combo and both ended in disaster when they got divorced.

Only my dad.
And I am the only one who has his.

ETA: She is not my wife, yet. Just a few more months...

and for that reason, i am the only person on the planet that knows my combo

Yes, to all four safes.(Also, the key to the pistol safe) So do my daughters.
Link Posted: 3/15/2011 8:30:39 AM EST
Yes...but I really, really wanted to vote titty sprinkles...
Link Posted: 3/15/2011 8:31:20 AM EST
Of course she does.
Link Posted: 3/15/2011 8:31:33 AM EST
Nope she won't ever either, unless we sign a prenuptuial agreement every 7 years. Its fine for her to know where the house guns are kept just not into my safe when I should get one some day. Its just a bad idea to let someone know about your safe.
Link Posted: 3/15/2011 8:32:01 AM EST
Oh my god no. That's where I keep my blow up dolls and hardcore pornography
Link Posted: 3/15/2011 8:32:12 AM EST
I to like titty sprinkles, but voted FUCK NO!
Link Posted: 3/15/2011 8:32:38 AM EST
Of course my wife has the combination to the safe. Can she open the safe? Well, I've shown her but I am not confident that she could.

My wife is my partner in life. Of course she has it.
If you can't trust your wife with the combination you don't have any business being married in the first place.
Link Posted: 3/15/2011 8:33:02 AM EST
Of course.

Link Posted: 3/15/2011 8:33:57 AM EST
2 full size safes.

She has access to the electronic key one. The dial safe ( higher priority one ) she has no access to.

Link Posted: 3/15/2011 8:34:20 AM EST
I voted yes, because 1/3 of the guns in there are hers.

Link Posted: 3/15/2011 8:34:32 AM EST
I voted I gave it to her and could really care less.

As she cant even change the TV to work the blue ray player without help, how she gonna to work a difficult combination without setting off the traps?

Honey.....I cant open the fridge........

Handle is on the other side babe....

.
Link Posted: 3/15/2011 8:35:05 AM EST

No I never told the girlfriend the combo, and shes the one that bought the safe for me! Good thing too, we are no longer together

Link Posted: 3/15/2011 8:35:16 AM EST
Not married, but I'd have no qualms with my wife knowing my safe combo. I wouldn't marry someone I wouldn't trust.

This.

Yes. The safe has our "files of all imprtant things" so she will get in there from time to time.
Link Posted: 3/15/2011 8:37:09 AM EST
Yes she has the combo. What are titty sprinkles and where can I get them?

Funny story about that. My safes use her and my daughter's birthdays as combos.

She cannot remember what year they were born. She can get the month right, the day most of the time, but she's kind of fuzzy on which daughter is older.

I always ask, "weren't you there?"

This is what happened with me.

She complained and complained and complained that she can't get into the safes.

So I finally told her the combo to one of them and showed her how to open it.

She was never successfully able to open it and has since forgotten the combo.

Now she is on the warpath about it again and plans to write it down if I give it to her.

AINT GONNA FUCKING HAPPEN.
Link Posted: 3/15/2011 8:39:05 AM EST
No, as with above, only my Dad.

. Can't you make your own?
Link Posted: 3/15/2011 8:40:25 AM EST
My mom and my brother are the only people besides me who have it.

I am divorced. If I get married again, I'll give it to the new wife.
Link Posted: 3/15/2011 8:41:46 AM EST
Yes. I trusted her enough to marry her. Why not enough to have the combo to the safe.
Link Posted: 3/15/2011 8:42:00 AM EST
If you can't trust your wife with the combo to your safe, you need a divorce.

Period.
Link Posted: 3/15/2011 8:42:15 AM EST
No, she does not have the combination. No, she would not be able to open it even if she did.

If your wife is just 'someone', you're doing it wrong.

If the zombie hordes attack, and I'm not home, she needs to get to a rifle.
Link Posted: 3/15/2011 8:43:37 AM EST
I'd certainly trust her with it, but she has no desire to know it.

You can only trust yourself 100%.

It may be sad, but I don't have any control over what people other than myself can and will do and neither does anyone else.
Link Posted: 3/15/2011 8:45:11 AM EST
Of course she does.
We wouldn't be married if I didn't trust her with it.
I consider her my equal, not my servant.
Link Posted: 3/15/2011 8:46:23 AM EST
wife no, girlfriends # 1, 7, and 12 yes
Link Posted: 3/15/2011 8:46:28 AM EST
Hell no.
Link Posted: 3/15/2011 8:47:04 AM EST
The problem with her having the safe combo is one of inventory management.

If she can get in, she can know what is in it at a point in time.

That defeats my ability to have mystery guns show up unannounced –– straight to the safe –– and if questioned...

"That old thing, I've had it for years..."

This.

Same here. I had to give her a code to remember the combo, and I'm pretty sure she forgot both.
Link Posted: 3/15/2011 8:49:04 AM EST
Yes, I told the wife the combo, but I'm sure she has forgotten it. Inside the safe are important insurance and bank papers that she would need if something happened to me.

I have found, over the years, that the wife cannot count over say, 7. Anything above that is just the concept of "Many" .
Link Posted: 3/15/2011 8:49:34 AM EST
Yes. She puts her gun in there when she's not carrying it.

Not married, and currently single, but I doubt I'll ever trust someone 100%.

If I get married, I'll have a gun or two in a quick access lock box, in the house, which my wife can access in an emergency. The combo to the safe? HELL NO!

Pure unadulterated women's lib Marxist horse-shit.

So you can demand all your wife's account info, money, etc? Just tell her that if she don't give it to you then you oughta get divorced? you do that.

Marxist crap. History has shown that there needs to be a cutoff between women and men for a marriage to work.

Wife has access to everything we own.

Passwords to every account that matters. Email, banks, 401k, you name it. She gets power of attorney when I am away.

Combinations to safes, gun and regular.

Documenting all this in case you get killed is an interesting exercise.

Been married since the early 70's. Wife knows everything. Handles all finances, has access to ALL bank accounts, real estate, IRA's, stock accounts, gun safes and even the toolbox in the truck. Things have gone just fine.

Nope. I believe in "staying in your lane"

After all, I don't have and don't want the "combination" to the oven
