Just curious.....for the last 11 years I have gotten a 3-5% of yearly salary bonus. They cancelled that this year due to budget cuts, and everyone got a $50 gift card to Wally World. Sort of a bummer, because we had gotten used to spending the large bonus for Christmas (the wife works for the same company, so it was a considerable amount). What about you guys?

I do not know but I just got an $85 dollar tip from my residents. I manage a rental property.

Me too... my company was just purchased by a canadian competitor... it will not be too long before they show me the door.

ETA - no bonus this year, either.

I give my staff a weeks salary as a year-end bonus, whether they deserve it or not.
Link Posted: 12/21/2005 6:55:53 AM EST
That depends, some years they do some they don't with no rhyme nor reason as to when where how or how much!
Link Posted: 12/21/2005 6:56:53 AM EST
I get a turkey, which is a big deal for a guy who usually can't afford meat. Woot!

Our company give the employees a holiday basket with a turkey and all the trimmings for a holiday meal.

A lot of the older customers that I help out show up and give us $$$ for helping them out during the year.

I got a Hannukah bonus at my company. However, as I am the sole employee and CEO, that meant I bought a Hk logo ballcap off of ebay.
Link Posted: 12/21/2005 7:35:06 AM EST
I got a one year subscription to the Jelly of the Month Club. The gift that keeps on giving the whole year round.

That stupid lying, for flushing, no good, sack of monkey stuff of a boss of mine didn't give me a check this year.

Amen

We get "profit sharing" two weeks before Christmas.

Everyone is supposed to get $1000. They "increase or decrease the amount based on job performance and responsibilities".

I have only been full time here for less than 2 years. This year was the first year I got $1500.

Our bonus is a nice supper on Thursday and a nice lunch on Friday. Several of us tried to talk the owner out of it since we can't afford it so he wrote a personal check to pay for it all. We aren't paid enough, but every extra penny goes to the employees so it's nice to feel appreciated.z

Bonus?

They sold more product at a higher profit than ever before. In '00, the new VP shitcanned the Thanksgiving Turkeys, "We are going to give them to the United Way". He still hears about that, cheap bastard.

This year, they started charging $20 per load Fuel Surcharge. Thats an extra $100 per truck per day, with only an extra $30 in cost increase.

$350 per truck per weeek new profit.

That started being the talk of the company, and a couple months ago out of the blue they gave each of us $100 in fuel cards out of the goodness of their hearts.

The way I figure it, that pretty much covers 5 years worth of turkeys.

Its buying a gun for me too.
Link Posted: 12/21/2005 9:03:38 PM EST
Nada at Christmas. We get to buy stock at a 15% discount twice a year.. jan1 and july1. Last year we got some kind of bonus early in the year. I don't know how they came up with it... was 1800 or so IIRC.
Link Posted: 12/21/2005 9:06:54 PM EST
My Christmas Bonus was about a days pay, but I also collect a week of holiday overtime..

Good enough for me
Link Posted: 12/21/2005 9:09:21 PM EST
We get $0.00
Link Posted: 12/21/2005 9:29:10 PM EST
$200.00 beats a kick in the ass.
Link Posted: 12/21/2005 9:51:49 PM EST
I get an annual bonus. It is calculated by the profit margins of this company and two others that are owned by the corporation that owns all of us.

Last year, a little over $600. After Uncle Sam, just over $300.
