Just found out that my boss knows that I have my CCW and carry at work. Actually went over quite well. He's interested in having a course taught here at work and will allow all employees to take the course. Anyone else been made at work and have any good or bad stories?

not only does he know he requested i do it, moved my cube right outside his office and we have disscussed "plans" for certain unpleasent situations that could occur in an office enviornment.

Mine might. He knows I have a permit. He gives me days off for shooting events.
We just never talk about carrying on the job. Plausible Denial is a great thing. ~R |

Question is, how did he find out? Mine knows I have guns, I work at a good ol boy place, that and I asked him if we had any lift gate trucks to move a safe etc. A lot of us have CHL's but I don't think any of these dolts carry, they leave it in their trucks But, I do and keep my mouth shut about it. I don't want anyone knowing. I am paranoid about printing but most people here are cluless. |

Yes, but the Chief of Police always knows everything.............

When my boss started talking about having the class another guy I work with who knows that I carry told him. Not the best way to find out, but oh well. The boss would never have known otherwise.

Yep. He and another Engineer also Carry.

Nope. I don't work in the office, but I'm pretty sure if they knew, they would not approve, and a policy would be created, citing liability concerns. It's a small company with no written employee handbook. They never told me I couldn't, and I'm not going to bring it up with them. When I block a day on the calendar for a pistol match, I don't tell them what I'm blocking it for, because I don't want it to even enter into their mind that I might carry. Maybe they wouldn't care, but I'm betting they would, based on the campaign posters they had in the windows last fall.

OC for my DoD Police job, and CC for my USAFR job. Obviously, all "bosses" know.

My direct sup knows I have a CHL but I've told him I only carry outside of work. I would NEVER carry at my office as it is stricly verboten per company policy. NEVER *cough cough*

My boss is my Uncle and he knows that I carry already. One day he heard a loud boom out back behind the office and came and asked me if i knew what it was. I told him I didn't know and he mentioned it sounded like a gunshot and that he's got a Colt Chief's Special .38 in his desk drawer. I told him I'd thought about bringing my carry gun in case something ever happened and he told me I should so now I keep my Glock in my desk drawer.

I work at Fedex. No guns, no OC spray, no knife with a blade length greater than 3inches.
|
|
I work at a nuke plant. Unfortunately I can't even leave one in my car. Not really a big deal since I pretty much go from work to home and we have a small army guarding us.

He and the office lady's all wanted me to carry. Big time gun freaks here in the shop, our office looks like a peta members nightmare. Deer heads, turkeys, snakes, bobcats, ducks, geese, hell last week I made a computer mouse cover out of a box turtle shell for his desk. I found a Rem 742 in the brochure closet the other day, it went kaboom sometime in the past and I have it in pieces in a box next to my desk right now. That reminds me, I need to work on it today.
Wait....this is your first post... |

Yeah. Mine came by this morning to tell me he finished his first AR build last night. He's also milling a 80% right now.

Day job: no.
Moonlight job: they figured it out, I think the owner's son (who didn't like me at the time, but there's been a 180 on that) had a cop friend run my license. I'm not allowed to carry at either. In a completely unrelated note, I ardently endorse the Crossbreed Supertuck holster. |
|
He is aware I have a license, but other details are not required.
––- fwiw, I have spent tons of hours at the range with him, and hunted with him quite a bit as well. |
|
Yes; my fiancee encourages me to carry and for her to say different would be hypocrisy on her part since she carries as well.
|

boss and owner of my company know i carry, and they don't have a problem with it. at my former job, me boss and his boss both knew i carried and neither one of them had a problem with it either dispite the company policy. |
