Just curious.  I have never ordered in two firearms at the same time to my FFL but may be doing so.  Do they usually charge for both firearms ie. 2 pistols = 2 X $[insert usual transfer fee]?

Should be able to do up to four guns for one fee if done at the same time. That's the way my ffl does it.
I think I misread, I am talking about background check fee.

Yes. $25 each. Does not matter if it's one lower or 5.

Mine (or the one I've been using) does.  He will only put 1 firearm per 4473, so I have to fill out two, and he makes ONE call to clear 'em both, but charges for both!

The one time I bought more than one,  yes he did.

Yes, 3 lowers on 1 form for $30 + $2.00 for the background check on all.

My FFL is GREAT!

$12 for a single transfer.

Same thing here $25 per 4473. At least they use internet based NICS which goes through CBI so the B/G check comes back in less than a minute.

My FFL is fee per gun, not 4473. The NICS is free here.

Thanks guys.  It sounds like some FFL's will charge an individual NICS fee and a transfer fee for each firearm.  They gotta eat to.

Great, so you order your firearms online from gunbroker or similar, so you can save money. Then you expect an FFL to transfer multiple guns to you for a measly twenty five bucks for an unlimited amount.Did you ever think he may just have expenses too? Why not order the gun through him and allow him to make a small profit so he can stay in business for the next time you need him?

I just bought more than one firearm at a time for the first time about 2 weeks ago. One 4473, three fees.

I don't complain, they only charge me $10 a pop anyway.

I surf the net and got very interested in a certain type of inexpensive imported pistol X.  I walked into my favorite gun store to look at the only example of pistol X they had which was received in trade from a customer.  I buy the pistol and shoot the shit out of it.  I must have another one of these inexpensive Pistol X's.  Pistol X is a foreign-made surplus pistol.  I want to buy two more of these, one for myself and a second one as a gift.

I find a source for the pistol and tell the gun store about it.  There is no dealer discount offered to the FFL.  What difference does it make who orders the pistol?

I'm not the one with the FFL.  If the owner charges per gun, then I pay per gun.  If he charges per transfer, then I pay per transfer.  He calls the shots.  My question was how do other FFL's do it in the rest of the country.

I'm lucky that my FFL is also a friend.  No charge for any transfers.  He just has to collect the state sales tax.
