I was just watching reruns on FX, is it just me or does Dale Gribble seem a lot like someone you would meet on arfcom?
Link Posted: 10/14/2004 1:48:44 AM EST
I don’t watch it.
Anybody else?
Link Posted: 10/14/2004 1:51:03 AM EST
Watched it back when it was new

Do I watch King of the Hill?

DO I WATCH KING OF THE HILL?????

I'm like the biggest KOTH fan alive. Hank Hill is my hero. When I'm out and about, I think...What would Hank do?

Best animated show on TV. I love The Simpsons, but KOTH has passed it IMO. I just wish Fox would give the show its due rather than pre-empting it all the damn time for football.

Bastards...

And if there are any KOTH freaks out there, explain the significance of this term to me.

You remind me of Bobby Hill.

Yep..

Between King of the hill and Seinfeld I don't watch any other shows outside of fox news and the history channel.

+1 LOL

Hank Hill and Dennis Leary for me. How weird is that?
Link Posted: 10/14/2004 3:15:22 AM EST
My favorite Hank Hill quote goes something like this (paraphrased):

"Maybe all these tatoos and body piercings aren't such a bad thing. You can tell someone's not right just by looking at them".

Straight talk from a simple man...

If you love KOTH, go see Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers in concert. Roger Clyne's old band, The Refreshments, wrote and performed the theme song to KOTH. They usually play it as part of their show. Very cool when performed live, a little bit longer too.

Great show and it has a positive message. It would be nice if they had a pro-Bush episode before the election but I don't think they start up until after the baseball playoffs.

I use my favorite Dale Gribble line all the time. It's from the episode where Cotton decides to shoot himself and needs a "bullet" for his pistol, so he asks Dale if he has any ammo. To which an incredulous Dale responds:

Thanks to the SPECTACULAR failure of Y2K...

The pre-Y2K episode with Dale's stockpile of Mountain Dew (my very favorite beverage) prompted many of my family members and friends who watch the show to start pointing out the many similaries
between Dale and me. (This is the same crowd who swore Burt Gummer was based on me back when Tremors first came out... hmm... come to think of it, there are more than a few similarities between Dale and Burt... )

One of my favorite shows, in case you couldn't tell - I never miss it.

KOTH is a show that shows reality. It may not be the best show around, but I think that it is probably one of the most realistic and honest.
Link Posted: 10/14/2004 8:33:14 AM EST
never heard of it, what's it about?

"dad can I have a gun rack on my bike"

"Do you know how long I've been waiting to hear that?" LOL...

I liked the "Texas Tower Sniper" episode. "The police aren't trained to handle this, it's up to us! Let's go, gun club!"

The episode at the gun club was fucking hilarious, where Dale had an accidental discharge. I liked the episode too where Bobby started shooting, and Hank had to come to terms being horrible with a gun lol.
Link Posted: 10/14/2004 2:21:33 PM EST

My favorite one is when Bobby learned women's self-defense at the Y. Then he went around kicking all of the school bullys in the balls. Hank found out and told Bobby that it wasn't right hitting below the belt and Bobby said "why Dad it works?"

Dale is funny.

Unfortunately they did a Bush episode, and Hank didn't like Bush. He was all for Bush until he met him at a pep rally and shook his hand. he said that Bush had a limp handshake and he just couldn't trust a man who didn't shake hands properly.
