Over the past few days I've sent half a dozen questions to sellers on the EE while they are online.  Usually about a minute later they are logged off and don't answer my questions.  Does anyone else notice this happening?  It's like they get an IM and then run and hide.  It could be a coincidence but it seems to happen a lot.

I don't come out of the basement too often but holy shit, it must be some fear of socialization.

I think a lot of times they have actually logged out but the system hasn't updated their status.

You can set that in your preferences. I prefer the little yellow indicator in the envelope. Got annoyed at the black overlay.

Maybe they have a life and answering EE inquiries immediately isn't the # 1 priority in their life?

I sometimes have 10-15 threads open at once.  I might take an hour to read through everything and then close my browser.  If someone sends me an IM during that time, I won't see it until the next time I log on.

SOOOOO nothing is new?

I messaged a seller seconds (literally) after they posted the add " Ill take it" with my contact information No response , add stays up for another week plus then vanishes or is marked sold.

Probably sorting through the 15 other IM's that include...

1. i know you are asking for $$$, but would you consider $$$ minus 40%
2. i know you specified no trades, but I've got a wicked chrome Lorcin and some reloaded 25's that I could part with straight up for your HK NIB
3. I know you specified money orders or paypal, but how about a personal check from the bank of Nigeria
4. I know you said first email takes it, but I really NEED this item.  Can you hold it for me until my next pay check comes in?

Annoyances on the EE go both ways

The 'online' tag works about as well as the search function.

Yep.

I sometimes get lost in threads and suddenly realize that I need to get back to more productive shit. If I don't refresh or open a new page, I don't know that there is a PM until I log back in. But I'm not that popular so it's a rare occurrence.

And, sometimes, I'll be actively reading, opening a new page, posting etc. and it shows that I'm offline.

I just assume that they have a life and don't spend every waking moment on here like I do.
