The Berenstain Bears? Aha! You're from this universe. The first two posters were part of the group that got switched into this one, like I did. I also remember seeing and hearing Berenstein as a child. I used to have a tv guide or some shit where it was spelled that way, too. |

I couldn't remember, so I looked at the books in my kids room. Didn't know there was some sort of controversy with it until all the other replies showed up after the edit. |
|
To which universe are you referring; the stein or the stain ?
|
|
Whatever. I remembered it as Stein as well and I read the books and watched the T.V. show as well as a kid. I think The Velveteen Rabbit was the best kids book ever written.

Pics I took of my old copies the lat time we did this thread! http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e72/jfg_4/image.jpg1_zps0bzrfrv6.jpg http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e72/jfg_4/image.jpg1_zps44c1oyti.jpg View Quote Do they now go by Berenstein bears or something? Guess I missed the last thread. I'm 28, and would have said Berenstein though. |

Rookie ass OP.
At this hour you should be reading Go the Fuck to Sleep, not no fucking Bernstien bears or wtf ever. I even have the classic You Need to Fucking Eat book for supper time, too! Full disclosure: Infant and toddler have been mildly ill and royal pains in the ass the last 36 hours. I'm a little sleep deprived at the moment, and ornory. Fuck you OP and your bitch ass kids stories. And no, I don't read those books to my kids. Yes, they are real books. |

What were those other books with the worm with the bowler hat in an Apple? The was a Fox or a cat or bear with suspenders too I think

It was the Berenstein Bears.
People posting old covers as proof prooves nothing. When the time ripple occured, EVERY physical medium changed as well. The only thing that was unaffected by the event were memories of people who were children when the books were popular. |

Doesn't matter what y'all have as proof of 'stain vs 'stein. We all slipped into that wormhole together and everything we knew was altered during the dimensional slip. Except our memories
|
|
The reason why so many remember "-stein" is because it's far more common than "-stain"

And Blueberries for Sal. Great book. No heavy-handed lesson. |

View Quote Going back to 2011 the communist dance party(which I completely forgot about till researching the Mandella effect) posted an in depth analysis on the topic. http://communistdanceparty.blogspot.com/2011_07_24_archive.html?m=1 It only became mainstream in the summer 2015 when some little known rapper started tweeting about the misspelling or at least what most recall it as. If you read the blog I posted above it had three good links to back up the claim that the theory is true. Unfortunately the best one where a blogger had an entire rant on the antisemitism and the Berenstein name and apparently his entire blog post had it spelled ein instead of ain. Apparently he took it down, could it have been because he realized the whole post had the "incorrect" ein spelling? Who knows but maybe he was a bad speller. It's just funny that if you were so passionate on something you'd catch a spelling error like that. Anyway... After some more digging I've come across the theory of a 1984 style rewriting of history to control the population. Never read the book and that maybe getting too tinfoil the but it should be fun to think about and hey, why not keep an open mind? |
