Does anyone know the last time this fund (DODGX) was available to non-shareholders?

however... if you can get a current shareholder to "gift" you $2500 worth of DODGX, perhaps at a small premium (say 5% over) for his/her troubles, you can get some for yourself. this type of transfer is easy to set up, you just need someone to push it into your account.  one other caveat, note that you generally have to do a taxable->taxable, or tax-advantaged to tax-advantaged transfer.  hence, if your buddy holds DODGX in an IRA, they can't gift it into your taxable brokerage acount; nor vice-versa.

ps:
speaking of D&C ... i expect that DODFX will close shortly (within the next 6 months) as well.  it will likely be a "soft close", just like DODGX -- current account holders can continue to add funds, but there will be no new account holders through traditional means.  i don't think you can find a better foreign large cap value fund than DODFX.   i first bought shares in DODFX three years ago and i continue to DCA into it.   i also selected it for the "4 fund" portfolio that i describe in this thread.

Funny you say that...I recently put in a buy order for DODFX. I'm not going to miss the boat.

Agreed.  That's also 1 of the reasons I added it to my ROTH along with DODGX.
