I was just curious how many guys on this board have female companions who will actually go and shoot with them.

Or even just go watch you shoot.

I love to go shooting but my wife (married less than 3 months, but have been together for 5 1/2 years) just isn't into it. She has never been around guns but she tolerates mine because she knows how much I enjoy it.

Just kind of curious what kind of experience the general population on this board has had.

(And ladies...you can just tell it from your point of view)

Thanks.

My fiancee doesn't like shooting, unless its small bore/low noise. Maybe its time to invest in some suppressors?

My sister loves to shoot, and is pretty good, too.

Here's a pic:

My wife and daughter love it...

Mine hates getting hit by brass. She'll shoot anything you give her though.

She's not a bad shot. With two small ones at home its hard for both of us to get out and go shooting.

She'll go so long as it's not hot outside.

Well, I didn't vote 'cause my relationships aren't exactly based on whether they like guns or not...

but, the g/f does go shooting with me. She has a Marlin Mdl. 60 that she usually outshoots
me with!
She likes the AR, but deems the shotgun unneccesary for recreation...

I am obviously more into firearms that she is, but I am fortunate that she supports my "habit"
in fact, she got me a Pelican 1720 cause she was sick of me stealing her case!

Bless her heart!!

My wife would shoot ME if I didn't take her with....hell, my girl can shoot a Sig 239 better than 95% of the men I've seen shooting ANYTHING.

My wife had never fired a gun before we started dating (go figure, I find the only one from Texas who hadn't) a few years back. She is not really into it, but will blaze away with my dedicated .22LR M4 when she goes to the local range with me.

To her credit, she did attend SAFS with me at Camp Perry this year--and will even admit to having a good time. Here is an action shot of her during slow-fire (single loading) at 300 yards.

And doing Pit duty at Perry.

Once in a while she'll go shoot some pop cans or CDs with a .22 handgun, but she really isn't much for shooting. She doesn't really like to watch, but I voted for the middle one since she isn't totally against it. She also always tells me to go shooting, she says I don't do it enough (I really haven't done it much this summer, since it's been so hot. I like doing it in the fall/spring when it's a reasonable 65 or so outside).

In your case, does your right hand like to go shooting with you?

Mines not head over heals for it but she does enjoy it when she comes out. She mainly sticks to a friends .22 scoped rifle and blazes through a brick of ammo while me and my friends have fun with the rest of our toys.

Saving up for a 10/22 for her next so she wont have an excuse not to come out.

My wife has her own M4gery and loves to shoot it. She isn't into pistols or shotguns though.

They are mytical beasts rumored to exist, similar in lore to the Loch Ness Monster

Just got my wife her first gun - Glock 17. She really likes it, and enjoys shooting it...it has pink grip tape.

This is going to be good for my gun collection and bad for my wallet

past GFs have never been into shooting, but at least they didn't give me shit for going to the range regularly.
Link Posted: 8/12/2005 3:21:20 PM EDT
Pfft, I have had her at the range once. She shot a .22 pretty well, but had no interest in it. She didn't even shoot the 9mm I'd purchased for her.

To be fair, she's very skittish and doesn't like loud noises no matter how well her ears are protected. Guns intimidate her. But I'm hoping to get her to the range in September.

Nah, she's not interested at all but has no problem with me going any time.
Link Posted: 8/12/2005 4:35:37 PM EDT
yeah, she is the one that wants to go most of the time. That's fine with me.

Seems my fiance had a bad experience with a gun when she was 10 or younger. Apparently her daddy wanted to teach her about guns and gun safety and he had her shoot a sawed off 12 ga. This of course sent her lil butt flying backward across the hood of a car and onto the ground beyond. So I guess if he wanted her deathly afraid of guns mission accomplished. Anyway Im SLOWLY wearing her down and hopefully by next year she'll be going with me to the range on a weekly basis.
