Do you wear a watch on a daily basis? I used to, but know I just use my cell phone.
Not since I started carrying a phone with me everywhere. So 12 years now without a watch. Before that I wore one every day.
Yes. I feel naked without one. Only time I don't wear one is when I work-out, shower, or sleep.
I love these threads...so full of insight that can be found no where else!
No. I can't remember the last time I had difficulty ascertaining the time. I'm surrounded by clocks everywhere I do, and I don't need to wear another one.

Quoted: Haven't worn a watch since Highschool. Same here, don't own one. |
Of course. I need to know what time it is and refuse to be saddled with an electronic leash. The cell is in the car if I really need it. I can also check the time in a discreet manner when necessary. Try that with a cell phone.

only wear mine when I put on my "nice" clothes, so about half the week.
Never wear one - except maybe dressy type events. Just don't like the feeling of something on my wrist.
Cells, car clocks . . . it's now a piece of jewelery |
I wore one up until my band broke last time. I discovered that my cell phone worked fine for telling me the time and never bothered to repair the watch.
Now I just need a round, gold cell phone with a chain. |
Yes, at the moment I am wearing about a 18 year old Citizen.
No.
When the sky gets bright I go to work, when I get hungry I go to lunch, when I get tired I go back home, when I get sleepy I go to bed. I use a clock to tell me when it's time to get ready for church, and the occassional meeting (had an 8AM meeting today, woke up 2 minutes before the alarm went off, so didn't really need it anyway). |
Yes. Cell phones can lose charge very rapidly and go dead. I don't worry about that with my Eco-Drive .

Try that with a cell phone. I was about to type that same reply almost verbatim. ED- Also, cell phones and SCUBA diving tend to be mutually exclusive. I wear my dive watch everywhere but to bed. |

I travel frequently to where there is no cell service. To be fair, just because you have no service doesn't mean the clock stops working. Unless you're saying that you just leave the thing at home because you know it won't work where you're going. |
When I first started carrying a phone I stopped wearing a watch. At some point I got tired of fishing out my phone from wherever I had it and I started wearing a watch again.

Quoted: SNIP At some point I got tired of fishing out my phone from wherever I had it and I started wearing a watch again. Yup, I got tired of fishing around in my pockets, and bought a watch. |
I work from home and there are enough devices (clocks, set top boxes, mobile phones) with the date/time on them that I don't wear a watch around the house. I'll wear one when I leave the house though.

I don't understand why this is the one area where the "two is one" philosophy is proudly abandoned by so many arfcommers.
Yes, I wear a watch and carry a cell phone every day. |
Nope, never. They just get in the way for a man who works with his hands.
i never really could decide if i liked wearing one or not, untill i stopped wearing one.
haven't worn one in 15 years. i am still always on time |

Yup, can't take cell phone a lot of places that I work and I like to know the time.
have not worn a watch since I carry a cell phone everywhere now.
Fancy smart phone > fancy watch |
I would if I could afford a nice one (omega, Tag, Rolex etc.).

Not me. Not in 30 years. Don't have to answer to anyones neck and call. Hardly carry the cell phone. Ball and chain either.
Not since carrying cell phones. Wristband is always a bit annoying hacking away at a 'puter.
always. i don't like having to dig my phone out from the multitude of pockets i have whenever i want to see the time. funny how often people ask you the time when they notice you have a watch. time to buy a watch buddy
I haven't worn a watch in a month or two. Only when the alarm is going off do I care what time it is.

Yes. I feel naked without one. Only time I don't wear one is when I work-out, shower, or sleep gut a deer. That's the only time I take it off, besides cleaning it. Titanium just doesn't get fucked up. |

Rolex Submariner; had it for about 14 years. Gentlemen wear watches.
