My wifes debit card info keeps getting stolen. Luckily our bank has a good fraud dept and they always catch them and cancel her card before they use it. I think we will start using cash more often.

Debit.

I only use the credit card for online sales and for fuel. Cash all the other time

Debit. How and what type of info is getting stolen?

ETA: I also use credit for online purchases and gas cards for, well, gas.

Credit for 98% of our purchases, which we pay off every month.

I will not allow potential thieves direct access to my checking account via my debit/ATM card.

They get her account # and try to use it online in other states.

Cash is king.

I don't use my debit card too ofter since I am leary to trust anyone. Nowadays you go to the store and punch you 4 digit PIN and someone will have your PIN and card number. Do you feel comfortable with someone walking off with your debit card that has your card number, expiration date and 3 digit code on the back? I don't.

Credit cards are good if you pay them off. They do offer protection from credit card fraud. I use this for online purchases and pay them off.

Checks if the guy behind me is rude. I take my sweet ass time to fill it out.(JK)

Check card.

Charge as credit, but it comes out of my checking account.

Don't know how that happens, maybe dumpster diving? I have used mine tens of thousands of times with no ill effects. I've used it in at least a dozen countries and never have had my info stolen.

Cash is my favorite. I only stray from it when I have to.
Link Posted: 12/5/2007 10:49:03 AM EDT
Debit so much that I dont hardly ever keep more than $10 cash on me at any given time.

I never use a debit card. In the event of theft/fraud that money is comming straight out of your checking account.

I use my credit card that pays cash back for everything then write one check a month to pay it off.

That's what we do as well.

Exactly.

At least with credit, your loss is limited by law.

1. Credit card if I can.

2. Cash for all instances that don't fall under #1

3. I never use my debit card except as an ATM card. I get better protection/benefits from my credit card.

I know its strange. I use my card twice as much as her and I've never had a problem.

Check, credit, cash.
debit, never.

Debit 99% of the time. I rarely have cash on me and I only use credit cards to buy stuff online.

If I have cash on me I like to spend it.

80% cash
10% Debit
10% Credit

Refuse to use a debit card.
Credit is way easier to handle unauthorized usage on.
At least from what I have seen.

Yep thats what I do most of the time as well.

I pay my bills with my debit card. For day to day purchases I probably buy 60% with debit and 40% with cash.
Link Posted: 12/5/2007 8:04:24 PM EDT
Debit, for nearly everything, and I know all the numbers from memory.
Link Posted: 12/5/2007 8:09:00 PM EDT
Debit card but I keep a little cash on me in case the cc terminal is down. I've been lucky enough not to have to use a credit card and pay for everything up front. A big plus is my debit card (moneymarket) pays back 1.5% on every purchase and it is credited immediately...

Always credit.

With the rewards I get, there is no reason to use anything else.

+1
Also has fraud protection, why use a debit card?
With a credit card you aren't out any money if something gets screwed up.

About half credit half cash.
