It's been a couple of months since the ATF said that shouldering a Sig brace turns the gun into a rifle, and possibly unregistered SBR if the barrel isn't long enough.

Are you still doing it?

Anonymous poll. Let's see how many people are submitting.

The poll will provide an aggregate answer. We'll see where the discussion goes.

And I have raw milk.

SBR's here...we don't need no stinking brace.
Link Posted: 4/30/2015 10:28:37 PM EDT
4 of you are going down!
Link Posted: 4/30/2015 10:28:41 PM EDT
I owned three, shouldered them all the time and sold them when my stamps came in.
Link Posted: 4/30/2015 10:28:49 PM EDT
When a Form 1 tax stamp is barely more than the cost of the stupid brace, why would I bother with the brace?
Link Posted: 4/30/2015 10:29:25 PM EDT
My memory is foggy.
Link Posted: 4/30/2015 10:29:55 PM EDT
I've never owned one but I thought about it twice.
Link Posted: 4/30/2015 10:30:20 PM EDT
hello ATF
Link Posted: 4/30/2015 10:30:37 PM EDT
Sold mine for $100, and the two buffer tubes I had for $20 each. Put them towards sbr stamp
Link Posted: 4/30/2015 10:31:13 PM EDT

I've got 2 SBRs, but the Sig brace still fills a role.

An SBR'd 10/22 and an SBR'd AR-15 can both be turned into a lot of things. An CZ Scorpion doesn't have enough options to entice me to SBR it, so a Sig brace is perfect there.

Shoulder braces are icky.

I had one on my AK krink, but I later SBRed that AK and sold the brace.

Have we done this poll before? I know we've gone overboard a few times arguing about it, but I've never seen a poll for it.

Because EForm 1's are back up to a 2 month wait and you can get a Sig brace shipped to you overnight.

Because 5320.20

Because it is considered a pistol so it can legally be kept loaded and accessible to the driver of a vehicle in more places than a rifle can.

Shouldered until I got my stamp. Now it sits in the safe on my pistol lower that never gets shot really.

Is this the new ATF sting to replace the drop-in autos ear ad in the back of The Shotgun News?

I don't think the ATF is nearly this creative.

If you grip the magwell of an ar pistol are you re-designing the pistol??

Link Posted: 4/30/2015 10:51:37 PM EDT

If I bisect a .223 bullet, and load the pieces into a case, and fire it from an AR-15, have I redesigned it into a shotgun?

Maybe I want to take my gun one state over without permission.

SBR is for home state braced lower is for another.

I gave an honest response. I have never owned one. Nor have I owned an AR pistol

My gun, my rules.

I run with sharp objects, don't get rental car insurance, and I cheek my Thorsden buffer tube cover.

I own one, but pulled it off.

Turns out the day I submitted my form 1 was the same day they outlawed it's use.
Link Posted: 4/30/2015 11:02:54 PM EDT
Nope. I sold it. Going SBR.
