I once heard a joke that guys only open car doors for women when it's a new car or a new girl. I've been married over 8 years and still open the car door for my wife, 90% of the time anyways. Sometimes she doesn't wait for me when I'm locking the front door.

Gentlemen ALWAYS open doors for ladies!
Link Posted: 9/28/2005 6:52:45 PM EDT
All of the time. That's what I was taught to do.
Link Posted: 9/28/2005 6:53:05 PM EDT
If I am driving yep, and the only time I am not driving is if I am injured (like now) and am unable to go around to open the door. Otherwise it is always opened by me

That's sad for Colorado, then Dude. Really sad, actually. Come south and you will see it everytime you leave the house.

Been with the wife for 16 years now. 12 married.

When we leave the house together, she's on her own. If we are going to Home Depot or Lowe's or out running errands, she's on her own. If we are on a "date", like leaving a restaurant or the movies I will still open her door.

ETA: It is common courtesy to open any other door for a lady, my wife or a stranger. What I like to do is make sure I say "your welcome" to some ungrateful, "liberated" bitch I hold the door open for that doesn't thank me for letting her go first through a doorway.

2. You should be seeing yourself doing it if you are a gentleman.

Ms. ZW17 is a tough little cookie and don't need no sissy boy opening the door for her.

Car door - no
Every other door - try to, if she doesn't do it first.

I dated my wife for 5 years and have been married to her for 4 years now. I have been getting the door for her the entire time.
Link Posted: 9/28/2005 7:38:26 PM EDT
The wife and I went out to dinner tonight and I noticed a young boy, maybe 16-17 and his little date. I noticed several things.

A "W" sticker on his truck.

He had a haircut.

His pants were up.

He was wearing a "Robert E Lee, an Officer and a Gentleman" T shirt.

He opened the truck door for his GF and then opened the restaurant door for her and stood aside for my wife, my daughter and I.

I said, "Thanks, Bud." He said "Yes Sir."

His date was dressed like the cute little teen she was, not like a whore.

It made me smile. Some people are raising their kids right.

Raised right....

Yup, my fiancee is a triathelete. She is doing ironman wisconsin next year. She is extremely tough and independent. She likes to do things herself. Thats why I like her. She would'nt allow someone to open a door for her when she can do it herself.

Dated my Poopsie for 4 yrs, been married to her for 37 yrs. I don't even consider not opening doors for her. It's the right thing to do, always. ms
