after O & A left normal radio and its now just 6hours of unstructured stupid boringness, which somehow makes the day take longer than it was before, i would still listen to them, but seriously, fuck them

im tired of being assosiated with stupid fucks i used to work for, who used to say "uss" and shit like that. that was fucking awkward and embarazzin

ron and fez are the shit though. still lovem, but i miss black earl

Sirius when I was commuting 50 miles each way.

Now that I only drive about 7 I don't use it anymore and canceled the subscription.
Link Posted: 5/2/2009 11:43:31 AM EDT
My mom's TrailBlazer came with it when we bought it but we didn't re-up it.
Link Posted: 5/2/2009 11:43:43 AM EDT
I just canceled service after 5 years.
Link Posted: 5/2/2009 11:45:08 AM EDT
Cancelled mine a couple of months ago. It was nice to have when I was an OTR truck driver, not so much anymore. Everyone bitches about the XM/Sirius merger, but XM was already fucked up beyond hope of recovery once Clear Channel took over programming on all the important channels - gave us all the same shit we hate about the local radio stations. Too many commercials, engineers that can't find their ass with two hands that end up having the program, the news, and 2 commercials playing at the same damn time...

has it cancelled it @ home or work i use pandora among other online stuff (Like SUBNET) or on the road load up the I-pod and my own CD mixes

I've had Sirius since 2006, but I won't be renewing next time around.
Link Posted: 5/2/2009 11:46:57 AM EDT
If it wasn't for Sirius NFL I'd let it go.

I wont use them since XM outsourced alot of jobs to Jamaica even through the reps in Jamaica will steal your info and commit fraud.  Alot of people I know and worked with lost thier jobs.

That was one thing I really didnt like, they stick you with XM on the vehicle as a standard option on some card, and your paying for it all upfront

Had XM years ago, and cancelled when I heard a commerical for the first time.

Whats the point/benefit?
Link Posted: 5/2/2009 12:11:51 PM EDT
Had Sirius for a while.  I intend on keeping it.  I'm not big on music when I'm working or driving by myself so I listen to the talk/news channels.  Sirius Patriot 144 FTW!
Link Posted: 5/2/2009 12:12:37 PM EDT
Sirius for over 3 years. They just recently raised the rates and started charging for listening online. For 2 radios and and internet subscription I pay about $27.50 a month. I don't/won't listen to regular radio. Since I drive a big truck and listen for 14-18 hours a day, I don't mind paying for it.YMMV.

I have an I-pod.  It's better

We have it thru Dish Satellite. Some great stations on there. "The Boneyard" FTW
Link Posted: 5/2/2009 12:32:35 PM EDT
Yep i have it.
Link Posted: 5/2/2009 12:33:13 PM EDT
i have sirius for the past 3 years, it's okay - the music is getting lame and i am paying extra for the internet 128k feed also - that's worth $2.99!
Link Posted: 5/2/2009 12:35:53 PM EDT
I've had XM for years, I actually like Alt nation better than Ethel, play more variety and less stuff I don't like. Has led me to finding some new bands I like.

I've had Sirius for three years now and still like it.  Mostly Patriot 144, Classic Rewind 15, 1st Wave 22, 80s on 8.  The kids like the Disney Channel radio.

Good for long drives, particularly Patriot FTW!
Link Posted: 5/2/2009 12:42:07 PM EDT
Sirius for 1 year, did not renew. I liked it and wanted to re-up but I'm cutting back on expenses. When times get better I will probably get XM/Sirius again.
Link Posted: 5/2/2009 12:43:12 PM EDT
I had Sirius before the merger, loved it but couldn't afford it anymore

I wouldn't be without it if I had the choice. Unfortunately it doesn't work here in DEU!

We have had Sirius since about 2004 and love it..  When i travel for work (day trips 3x/wk) its the only way the drive is tolerable...

Some ppl bitch about the commercials - (sirius always had them on the non-music channels, and from what I understand XM had some music channels with them) BUT I understand that need for the revenue. I would rather listen to a few commercials than have to pay more monthly or have Sirius/XM fold up. From what i can tell, they currently do not have commercials on the music channels..

It sounds like Ronnie's missing him as well. And ESD has been getting on my nerves lately, must be because nobody's around to stand up to him

Once my year subscription expires I am done with XM.
Link Posted: 5/2/2009 2:15:54 PM EDT
Realized with my 120g Zune and podcasts I can get much better programing then provided by XM
Link Posted: 5/2/2009 2:16:20 PM EDT
I had Sirius, but canceled once they raised the rate for online listening.

You see, all my work cars have Sirius. So my only reason to subscribe was to listen at my desk or at home.

Also, I would have like it if I could have gotten MLB on Sirius through the Best of XM, but I guess MLB wants too much $$.
Link Posted: 5/2/2009 2:23:10 PM EDT
Melvin screwed the pooch with the merger.  Xm sucks balls with repetitive shallow playlists and yappy DJ's.

If it wasn't for OnA/R&F I wouldn't have any subs.

Black Earl is a useless waste of space, with little to no skills in broadcasting, and the fucker couldn't handle the 'pressure' of a three hour show.   Good riddance.
Link Posted: 5/2/2009 2:30:42 PM EDT
I had it for a few years when I was commuting 74 miles a day to and from college. It was a lifesaver. It stopped getting as much use when my commute shortened and I got an ipod hookup in my truck. Leaving Sirius is not easy though, they just wont take no for an answer. The finally let it drop when I made up some story about working on a freighter ship.

Bought a new jeep and got 1 year of sirius with it.

Got tired of people talking.

Got tired of weird stuff like one of my stations changing to all ac/dc for a while.

Saw what they wanted me to pay per month or per year if I wanted to keep it active.

I let it expire.

I listen to music a lot when at home and I don't really drive all that much anymore.  I have decided to spend the time and money to just pay to download what I want onto cds and take care of it myself.

I like the idea but I change the channel when someone starts talking and I changed the channels a lot with sirius, not as much as with normal fm radio stations but enough I was annoyed with them wanting me to pay for what they offer.
Link Posted: 5/2/2009 6:46:49 PM EDT
Yup...Miz LWilde's Odyssey Touring came with it.  I like it but she don't listen too much.  She's always listening to the local country station.
Link Posted: 5/2/2009 6:51:33 PM EDT
Right now I am on a 3 month free. I tried to cancel, but they told me take 3 months and think about it. I have been paying for 4 years so I took it. Not sure if I will stay or not.
Link Posted: 5/2/2009 6:53:32 PM EDT
Sirius, and I will never listen to terrestrial radio again.
Link Posted: 5/2/2009 6:56:08 PM EDT
I'm on the road a lot. So I am a big fan of Sirius. Especially during football season.
