A regular Big Wheel wouldn't either.  The goddamned front wheel would always split down the middle, right along the seam.  And always at exactly the wrong time.

I've had them literally disintegrate under me.  That was part of the fun.

Fuck yes, I went through a Big Wheel and a Green Machine every 6 months. My dad was always thrilled to go buy me a new one, too.     I made the MOST of those years. What memories.

I went through 4 big wheels and 2 green machines. A few disintegrated under me but all leaned at the front wheel after a while.

We used to use a jump rope to attach it to the back of a bicycle and the guy on the bike would pedal as fast as he could. We got up to some pretty good speed, and got some pretty good scrapes too as we pulled the high G turns lol.

I've got three of them boxed up in the attic for Christmas morning.  A trio of five year olds with Big Wheels in the driveway will be like demolition derby.  I can't wait.

Get flying down a hill so fast your feet couldn't keep up with the peddles. You would slip off and get whacked 2 or 3 times before you could get your feet out of the way.

Yep.  I was crying when I got up from the wreck.  Not because I was hurt...(I was hurt pretty bad) but
because I knew I was going to be getting an ass whuppin' when I got home.  Literally, dislocated kneecap,
road rash on all five points of contact (Elbows, knees, face)....I was crying because my mom was going to
take the wooden spoon to my unscarred ass.

I actually didn't have one. My best friend was killed on one when we were both 5. My parents weren't too keen on getting me a Big Wheel as a result.

I wasn't lucky enough to have the spin out lever on my Alf big wheel. Yup it was an official Alf one, the cat eating alien. I just had to lock out a knee and yank the handle bars at the bottom of the big hill that went into the cul de sac.
