I don't and never have. The last new car I bought was back in the 60's. I am cheap.

For most people, leasing new vehicles makes absolutley no financial sense.

It is a marketing tool designed to put the middle class into indentured servitude by creating a monthly payment which fits the income.  This as opposed to actually being able to afford the product you wish to use (buy).

<-----Pays cash for vehicles.  Gonna drive 'em till the wheels fall off.

I'd add "...and when the wheels fall off, I'll pick up another set of wheel bearings before I remount and balance the wheels".

I tend toward both extremes.

I will drive a $500 POS for a year or so and/or a one or two year old DEPENDABLE vehicle and keep it until the wheels rust away.

Leasing a vehicle is for those who buy lotto tickets expecting to win.

Once I get a garage built, I'll finally be able to get back into TIG welding. My Jeep has some serious body rot that needs attention. I should be able to keep it going indefinitely, but I need a place to do it.

I don't know what the fuck I was thinking when I moved into a house with no garage.

We lease one, own the other outright. For us to is STUPID not to lease.

YMMV.

Leasing is for people who want to drive a car they can't really afford. Dave Ramsey calls it "Fleecing"

I put $7k down on my $16k car, and when the $215 payments are done I'll drive it for another 6  or 7 years.

ETA I'm speaking of individuals. For some businesses, I've been told it might have tax advantages.

+1
Leasing is for people who like to live well beyond their means.
