Yes. I always buy ammo for guns I don't own. Then I have to buy the gun else the ammo would have been a waste of money! Its tradition between myself and several friends.

Funny.  I have rifles with no ammo for them and ammo that doesn't go with a damn thing.

I have some hot-ass Israeli 9mm ammo I'm afraid to run through my Beretta because it's one of the old 92F models and already has around 10,000 rounds through it.

I might still have some rounds of 400 Cor-Bon lying around here and there - but I no longer have my 1911 conversion kit.

I have about 500 rounds of .38sp for a gun that some jerkoff stole from me, a handful of 7.62x39 for an SKS I sold a couple weeks ago, I guess that's about it.

I'm picking up a .38sp derringer in a couple of weeks though, so those 500 rounds should see service anyway.  I wonder what my hand is gonna look like after firing 500 rounds of .38 through a derringer.

If you have ammo, and I most certainly do not, that says "LEO ONLY" on the box... can you sell it to someone else without ending up in prison?  Again, and I stress AGAIN, I most certainly do NOT have anything of the sort... but if one of you guys did, what would you do with it?

Got some 38 special and 22 MAG that my father in law gave my wife... He's a former cop and got rid of most of his gun collection (none to us ) but gave my wife a can full of misc ammo. Most we could use...some we can't.
I've never bought ammo that I didn't have a gun for.

Case and a half of 7.62x39 with a large quantity of mags to go with it.
Used to have an AK and then got rid of it. One day I will own another trunk gun like the old AK.

Was accidentally sent a couple of boxes of .257 Roberts from Sportsman's Guide a few years back.

Now, I just have to find a left-handed, bolt-action rifle that chambers it.

I have a dozen or so rounds of .50BMG, a couple of boxes of 7mm Rem Mag, a few rounds of 8mm with no guns to match.

I also have a Remington 700 in .222 Magnum that I pretty much can't buy ammo for. I'll either have to order it from a custom ammo place or get into hand loading. Maybe one of these days....

Some .400 Cor-Bon I bought when I was convinced I needed a .400 Cor-Bon. For better or worse, that's as far as the project got.

I'm more fond of buying magazines for weapons I don't own (yet).

I have several boxes of .25acp that I bought to have on hand, one buddy has one of the pot metal wonders that we shoot from time to time,( his actually works fine) another friend has a baby browning that for some reason he won't shoot. This gun is a hand down from his grandfather so he won't sell it,but it's not like it's unfired. Some day I will see one when I have some spare cash.
I have 4 or 5 hundred rounds of surplus .308 and piles of reloading components (bought the ammo ,cleaned out several old reloading benches) I used to have a crummy Indian made enfield SMLE in .308 but I traded it off. Some day I will have a decent bolt gun (savage?) or a ar10 type .
Couple of other odd boxes of stuff I have bought to shoot in friends guns such as 7.62X54 .
As I mentioned I have cleaned out a couple of old reloading benches and have all sorts of oddball stuff that I paid nothing for.
I belong to a large club with lots of old guys, (good part) From time to time when one of the old gents passes away I have helped family clean out the old stuff, (kind of bittersweet, bad to see these guys pass on
but I get all kinds of stuff for dirt cheep or free). I get a kick in finding someone who can use some of this oddball components as upposed to tossing it in a dumpster .

I usually buy magazines for guns I don't own first (I can't pass up a great mag price deal) then I pick-up some ammo from a Century monthly special. Eventually, I end up with a gun 'cause, what the hey, I already have the ammo & mags!

yeah, but not much, started a catridge collection about 10 years ago and I've since moved and it just stayed in it's moving box all these years, about 3 months ago I started shooting the stuff I had guns for but now I'm stuck with some stuff I dont have guns for.  I'll give it away to someone who does eventually.

Heck....I have ammo AND magazines for guns I don't own, specifically Glock 21 mags.

I have 3000 rounds of 7.62x39 along with 10 magazines for a WASR-10 I don't own anymore. I plan on replacing it eventually.

I have a 30mm shell for an Avenger
I have a 20mm Oerliken (sp?) shell
I have several .45 ACP, .45 LC, .38 Special and .357 Magnum cartridges. One day I'll have another .45 and another  .45 Colt...

Now if I could find some 7mm pinfire laying around, I can shoot my 7mm LeFaucheaux at least once...

I've got some .44 Magnum and .270 laying around because my dad sold both guns (without letting me shoot them first), and a couple boxes of .264 Win Mag because the gun was destroyed. Strap broke while my dad was climbing out of his tree blind, it dropped thirty feet and the stock exploded into half a dozen pieces. Chamber and barrel are both warped beyond repair, only the scope is miraculously intact. The rest of the gun is only good for parts.

If I'd had more money at the gun show I'd have bought a couple rounds of .50 BMG just for kicks and grins.

EDIT: Oh yeah, I've got two unfired paper 9mm rimfire shotgun shells locked up somewhere.

A couple boxes of .223 that I bought to shoot in friends' ARs.

Some 5.45x39, about 250 rounds. Maybe I will buy a gun for it this weekend. For some reason, I want Thompson to make a barrel for it.

A lady at work bought a small dresser at a garage sale and when she got it home found a  not-quite-full box of ammo behind one of the drawers.

She knows I'm a "gun guy" so she gave the ammo to me.

Now I'm really trying to figure out a way to NOT buy a pistol just to shoot 38 rounds of 9x18 Makarov.

It's a disease, I tell you. A disease.

My #$%^&*(!!! cousin mailed me a Luger holster with a spare P.08 Luger magazine containing seven rounds of .30 Luger ammunition.

I normally don't mind getting free stuff but correcting this imbalance in the universe is going to be VERY EXPENSIVE.
