I have plenty of leather belts, including ones I use to carry.

Bought my first dedicated gun belt last week.

Big difference. (Courtesy of SFC Obvious) Should have done this years ago.

Beltman. This one.

Yes.

My EDW dress slacks belt is a garrison belt purchased at California Police Equipment.

It's pretty worn out and I need a new one.

Most definitely

I am looking for recommendations. Have lots of leather belts, but they aren't built for the M&P plus a mag and light.

You have my interest PrimusPilum.

What do you guys recommend for a gun belt that doesn't scream "gun belt!"?
Link Posted: 10/21/2016 6:51:15 PM EDT
Savoy double belt kicks some ass. Durable as hell and sturdy.
Link Posted: 10/21/2016 6:51:18 PM EDT
yeah, i used a normal belt for a number of years, until it finally broke.

bought a gun belt from hank's belts, and had the same reaction you did.
Link Posted: 10/21/2016 6:51:20 PM EDT

Yep.

Bought a Galco duty belt, it was damned expensive...but 15 years later, I'm still wearing it, and it looks like the thing will out last me.

I have leather gun belts, including a double thick horsehide from Kramer. Pretty obsolete compared to my Ares Aegis.
Link Posted: 10/21/2016 6:54:03 PM EDT
Yes. Two Alien Gear gun belts and one Crossbreed gun belt. I should not have waited so long to take the plunge, leaps and bounds better than a regular belt.
Link Posted: 10/21/2016 6:56:42 PM EDT
Yes but I prefer a thick wilderness belt.
Link Posted: 10/21/2016 6:58:43 PM EDT
I have a beltman. I bought my dad one as well.

I might need another... maybe in brown.
Link Posted: 10/21/2016 6:59:10 PM EDT
Yes. A brown leather 5.11 belt. Can't carry anymore, but still wear the belt.
Link Posted: 10/21/2016 7:00:57 PM EDT
There's a saddle shop close to me, the owner makes excellent gun belts for $35..I have a black and brown one.
Link Posted: 10/21/2016 7:01:19 PM EDT
Yes. I think from beltman. Forgot to where I got it.

I have the same as you OP, but in Black and made of horse hide.
Link Posted: 10/21/2016 7:01:32 PM EDT
Yes, I have two of them.

I've owned them for many many years but I only use them when I'm wearing a pistol, I don't use them as a normal pants belt.

Black leather 5.11 that I bought about 6 years ago. Still holding up perfectly. It was my first dedicated gun belt and a real eye opener

Beltman is awesome.

Don Hume 1.5" heavy leather, kydex reinforced. Been wearing it for over a decade, now.

Of course. There is no going back after having a a good gun belt. Holds the pistol where it is supposed to be for consistent draws and re-holstering. Prevents the gun from moving around and is all around more comfortable.

Welcome to the happy few who invest in a good belt.

A belt man has been holding up my pants and gun for 7 years.

If I'm wearing pants, I'm probably also wearing a pistol.

I had a gun belt. It was the stereotypically recommended gunbelt (which is like 6 feet long and thick enough to be used as a tow strap.)

I left it at Macy's or somewhere similar... and I don't miss that SOB one bit.

Carry AIWB and you don't need a belt... in fact, it's better without the damn belt.

ETA: My comments will inevitably invoke butthurt. Just try it. Lose the POS belt and try AIWB for a week. It's better, I promise.
Link Posted: 10/21/2016 7:05:49 PM EDT
Nope. Been using an Ares Ranger since 2012. It seems fickle, but a lot of the buckles I see on leather gun belts just look generic and not very stylish.

I've been wearing the one in the OP with dress slacks at work.

Yes Bianchi fancy stitched B9.

I have another don't remember the name but it's not stitched and it shows after a few uses. From now on I am getting stitched belts.

I have a Gunner's Alley leather gun belt, it's very good but i prefer the infinite adjustability of the Velcro closure on the Wilderness Instructor belt..

I assume this means Mexican carry? (eta, which is now the "in" thing. again. and it will be out in a year, for some other "in" thing. Until it comes around as the in thing. again)

Also, if my pants have belt loops, I wear a belt.

Also, if I'm wearing anything (non "tactical") other than jeans, I'm wearing a blazer or sports coat.

Your input might work for a 20 something, but if you dress like a grown up, I don't think it's good advice.

You can get gun friendly slacks and chinos/khakis.

The loops are Reinforced.

Also, I've been wearing the belt with Kirkland wool slacks (from Costco), believe it or not, and no issues.

Alessi 1.5/1.25" tapered and Mitch Rosen

When I stepped out of Corporate America and into Business for myself, I switched to Dickies 874 work pants. My big belts fit with room to spare.

Back in the "dress up" days, I just had my pants altered when I had the suit tailored.
