I live in Maryland.

I am waiting for the SAF to prevail in Woollard v. Sheridan.  THEN, I will have a CC permit.

Don't need one to carry concealed in my state. I could get one for reciprocality with other states though.

Don't hold your breath.

At least pick up a VA or FL in the meantime.

Now I know you're asking yourself, why bother when you can't even use it?
It's simple numbers.  The more people there are with permits, the stronger our cause, and that case, becomes.  It's a small amount of trouble to go through to at least get into the fight.  Donate to the SAF, keep your NRA membership, that's all well and good.  Be a part of organizations that help.  But you pick up a permit, and you're making a personal stand.

Bama...what do you need a permit for; aren't you LEO? Also, I'm curious, I know LEOSA allows for retired officers to CCW anywhere in the country; does it apply to active-duty officers as well?

No.  guns are icky and dangerous.  Too risky.  If you have a gun you are 870% more likely to kill old people and kids or yourself.  That is what my state says.  And they know what is best for me.

I have one from Kentucky and one from Arizona. Of course, AZ doesn't need permits either but it will come in handy in Las Vegas now.

It does apply to active duty as well, but a lot of it has to do with department policy. Some depts. don't allow its officers to carry off-duty, making them obtain a CCW permit.

I don't have a CCW. My dept. policy states that we will be armed at all times (unless drinking).
