Its obvious you like this site. Have you considered, for 20.00 per year that less than 1.66 month you can enjoy some simple team member bennies, like.

Spell checker/ preview (I use allot)
Team BOTD. the butt BOTD is worth the membership alone
My active topics (saves topics you responded to)
ALL Search feature
and MANY other really cool stuff.

Of course there Gold/Plat Membership.

Not trying to make anyone feel guilty, but once I passed the 1000 post I figure I spend a little to help the cause, and I'm glad I did there is sooo much more as a member that makes this sight worth visiting.

I always thought it was funny that we have members on here for 4 years who aren't. Some of them are anti-arfcom if you read their posts.

This is my first post as a team member. I am on just about everyday, have learned quite a bit and enjoy the heck out of the place. $20 seemed like a great deal!

You should NOW

Also FWIW I DO NOT buy ANYTHING from non team members. I have yet had a bad dealing with members, more than I can say about non members. And NO Im no saying non members are bad people to deal with, I choose not too because I dont want to get burned.

some day I hope I can contribute.  Money was tight before.  I was fired on Wednesday from my job so now it is even tighter.  I do not even have money to eat at a fast food restaurant.  I'm surviving off of pot pies and romen noodles from Walmart and have not been able to shoot in a couple months.

I do not feel guilty.  If I had to pay I would go elsewhere for information.

I've paid a couple of times.  Seems to me that the price of membership was quite a bit higher then.

Ya bunch of cheapskates.

Shrug....

I leave home for (various places, but ending at) The Citadel in less than a month-- why pay for a distraction?

ETA: IF I'd started hanging here exclusively a year ago, I would have joined... But this only became my primary board after THR shut down its Roundtable.

No.

I'm saving my money for guns and college. I also figure I don't deserve a membership until I own at least one "evil" gun.

That said, I have lots to say around here.

Like anything in this world, I try before I buy.  Ironically, however, I made the decision yesterday to get a membership because I have enjoyed my "test drive."  So, when I get paid next week I'm doing the middle of the road membership option.

Yeah, there are a lot of trolls here and some liberal whiny asses, but 90% of the site is great, 99% of the people are great, and I have no problems supporting that and them who share my love of the shooting hobbies and are unselfish in their advice.

The "My Active Topics" feature alone is so handy when coming back to visit and check on responses to your posts.  Well worth a measly $20.

Also- If you shop online at TopGlock.com, you get an extra 5% off the total cost of every order if you're a team member here.

nope- they make enough with industry partners and advertisers. If it werent for the non-member people like me who support this site through supporting site sponsors, then this site would not exist. So dont try to make me feel guilty for not paying a lousy 20 bucks.

That's the reason I joined.

I posted for a while, got into the "moocher" arguments, but, after all, free participation is an available option.

I joined to support the site, not because it was a requirement, and surely not because of people badgering me & calling me names.

If a person thinks the site is worth supporting, they will.

I dont feel guilty at all. Why? cause im a poor college student. 20$ to me is 2 weeks of food (and thats if im feeling ritzy). Those of you who have gone to college on normal terms (as a 20 year old not as a returning student) you know that money is more than tight, but UBER tight. I think thats why accounts like mine where created. Once im out of college ill worry about coughing up my 20$.

Simple answer no.....

First the coorporate sponsors probably pay more than enough to support the site.

Second, my mere presence as a member increased the traffic and therefore attracts more coorporate sponsors.

Third, as a Life Member of the NRA, GOA and the Arizona Rifle and Pistol Association considering the amount of money I donate to all three anually I don't think purchasing a membership here is necessary.

Fourth, apparently the owners of ar15.com aren't too concerned or they would make it mandatory for a member to purchase a Team Membership after a certain threshold of posts.

Members who decide to enjoy various levels of additional benefits by paying for them do not bother me at all. Good for them if that is what they wish.

Members who have paid money to the site and suffer from the dillusion that they are required to do so or are somehow superior to non paying members puzzle me, but I don't feel guilty about not mimicing them.

If I hit a thousand posts I'll probably do it.  I want to make sure this something that is going to be worth spending money on.  It is if I'm going to hang around for a long time, but it's not if I'm going to just drop off after a little while.

I asked a simple question to non members DO you feel guilty, I didn't imply that you should feel guilty for not being a member....

I started this tread to remind us of the team bennies. I'm not implying that members are superior to non members. I'm not suggesting to join when you don't have money for the basics. I really doubt that advertiser pay EVERYTHING to allow this site to run, shit I hate to see Ed overhead, and if he is making bank, its deserved.

I also spend allot of money on other memberships. ALL I am saying if you spend this much time posting (over 1000 post) you'll find many cool feature as a team member. I wish I would have join long time ago as I really like the additional website tools

Came back this year and have posted about 4 times what I did since 01. Leaving for Iraq in a couple of months, so gotta take care of the homefront first.

I became a member because I am on this site often &  because of it I have found usefull info, good deals on the EE, profited by selling off excessive items. I have also communicated with some great people.

I thought the least I could do wasto help support those who have made this site possible .
