Simple, do you drive a car you hate? Poll inbound....

Reason I ask is bc I dont hate my car but its....boring. Considering trading it to get something I really enjoy.

Thank God, no.  But Lord knows I have.
Link Posted: 8/19/2016 10:54:59 PM EDT
Fuck no.
Link Posted: 8/19/2016 10:55:29 PM EDT
No. But I do want to trade it in for a 4Runner.

No, my cars are awesome.

No, I drive a Honda Accord ECL 2008.  Only bitch I have is if I don't put on my seatbelt it beeps.
Link Posted: 8/19/2016 11:00:14 PM EDT
No. My biggest problem is stepping outside and deciding which of the five registered vehicles to drive.
Link Posted: 8/19/2016 11:00:40 PM EDT
Yea but it's a take home work vehicle so I don't bitch
Link Posted: 8/19/2016 11:02:49 PM EDT
I don't hate it, but the ergonomics suck, and I never would have bought it for myself.

Gift car from my father in law.

No car payment, I'll drive it until the wheels fall off!
Link Posted: 8/19/2016 11:03:53 PM EDT
Yes, a big ass ugly van with a service box on the back 5-6 days a week. It allows me to get a new loaded Duramax that mostly sits on the driveway every 3 years.

I drive an Acura TSX. While I enjoy it, it doesn't fit my lifestyle any longer.

Ive really ever only had one car I hated and it was a fucking 88 chevy corsica my exwife owned when we got married back in 99.
I had a 98 cavilier z24 myself but she threw such a bitch fit about me getting to drive the nicer car I ended up letting her drive mine and I drove hers.
Car fucking sucked! But goddamn I got screwed so hard buying my own first car and the payments were through the roof on it that we were stuck with her car since it was paid for.
Link Posted: 8/19/2016 11:04:48 PM EDT
I am tired of it but I don't hate it.

A Mustang was awesome when I was 18, nine years later I have other priorities and it isn't exactly the best vehicle for me to be honest.
Link Posted: 8/19/2016 11:05:06 PM EDT

No, but I need to.

1998 nissan frontier.  Bought new. Sucker has grown around ... me... like... a ...fungus....

I can't quit her!

actually been a great vehicle, glock nuts reliable.
Link Posted: 8/19/2016 11:13:47 PM EDT
I drove a 2000 Subaru Outback for 5 years.  It wasn't bad but slow as shit and it was a manual  I didn't like it.

Now I drive my wifes hand-me-down 2005 Ford Escape.  I like it enough.

In the past couple weeks I've driven Ford Taurus Turbos, Ford Explorers, Dodge Chargers and Chevy Caprises.  All were police models.  The Chevy Caprises are bad ass.

Never have
Link Posted: 8/19/2016 11:19:30 PM EDT
I did recently. It was a very decent car but it just wasn't me. Ive never owned a vehicle that wasn't a truck or an suv with four wheel drive (other than a few motorcycles). The car was a Toyota Corolla and it was a solid car and great on gas but it wasn't taken care of and I only bought it because its all I could afford at the time.

I got my finances straight and got rid of it and got another truck so im happy now.
Link Posted: 8/19/2016 11:20:25 PM EDT
I went from a lifted 4 door wrangler to a beater sedan because I was putting a bunch of money into building up the jeep and I didn't have nearly the amount of time to Offroad as I hoped. I would also rather my wife drive a nice car than me. I don't really care what I drive these days as long as it is reliable and gets me where I want to go. So saving money and reliability have me in a beater car. I don't love it but I don't hate it.

I love my ride.

2012 GMC Sierra crew cab 4x4 with 6.2 liter engine and 6 speed transmission, all leather, Bose stereo, etc..

Love my car. Really like my truck too.
Link Posted: 8/19/2016 11:22:48 PM EDT
Yes I do but its a company truck so I don't have much to complain about.
Link Posted: 8/19/2016 11:23:04 PM EDT
Wife bought a used Kia before we got married when I was pushing her to put a new block in her previous SUV (it was burning oil and had a weird timing noise, so both my mechanic and I were saying drive until it implodes, then do the work).
Then she decided that she didn't feel safe in the Kia in the winter so she took my Subaru and now I'm either driving my 11mpg truck or her piece of shit Kia with all the plastic crap breaking at the slightest glance. The vanity mirror cover is broken on one hinge so it flops around when I lower the visor, the gear knob trim is busted, there's even broken plastic rattling around inside the driver's window switch so it's hard to lower the window now. Dealer-only part.

I don't hate my civic, I just can't kill it.
Link Posted: 8/19/2016 11:25:58 PM EDT
I pretty much hate my commuter car at this point.  2004 Ford Focus with about 185k on it.  It's been very reliable, but it's at that age where cars start to seem like they need constant small shit fixed.  This past week or two it starting howling like hell as it goes down the highway.  No vibrations or anything, so the tires/wheels should be good.  Wheel bearings maybe?  Hell if I know and I have no interest in spending my days off messing with it.

Combine all that with the fact it's hopelessly boring to drive.  Yeah, I hate it.

I have a 2014 car that I drive on weekends.  I like it a lot.  Just can't bring myself to use it for my commute and put like 30k miles a year on it.  I'd rather drive some old beater into the ground with my commute.
Link Posted: 8/19/2016 11:26:04 PM EDT
No <3 my Brodozer option? That's my vote..
Love driving my truck everywhere, is beat up, it squeaks sometimes, I love it. I hated my car and myself when I was a Honda guy, and my 350z drive me nuts being so low to the ground. Just buy a truck it's what you want
Link Posted: 8/19/2016 11:27:14 PM EDT
Bought the first car I actually wanted about 2 months ago. 36 years old, finally driving something I like. Jeep Wrangler Unlimited.
Link Posted: 8/19/2016 11:28:13 PM EDT
I love my first gen CR-V. It even comes with a picknick table and wine bottle holder built in.

Com-any car 2014 Camry hate it but it's completely free...
Link Posted: 8/19/2016 11:30:09 PM EDT
30 and driving a grand marquis... it has leather though and ac and power everything but it is made for older people,  it was my deceased grandmother's and given to me.   Wife drives the tundra.  But I only have to drove 7 miles to work.

I hate the XTerra. Wife bought it and drove it for a few years, but we traded when we bought the house due to mileage. She's driving my Civic now, which is the one I like. By the time she graduates it'll be paid off and sold, she'll buy her GTI and I get the Civic back. Less than a year now.

The truck needs some repairs and has no AC so it gets limited use. The Colt is waiting on engine assembly, which got delayed because the XTerra needed tires... and I might have too many projects...

Yes. Company fleet car. 14 chevy malibu. FUCKING WORST CAR EVERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
Link Posted: 8/19/2016 11:50:45 PM EDT
I did for awhile, fucking car shocked me about every time I got out.
Link Posted: 8/19/2016 11:53:39 PM EDT
I like my current vehicle as much as anything I have ever owned.  It is nearly 14 years old, was paid for the day I got it, and I hope to make it last for years to come, which should not be too difficult since it only has 70K miles, and I average about 4K per year.
Link Posted: 8/19/2016 11:57:42 PM EDT

I have never driven a vehicle I hated.
Some have had their idiosyncrasies that drove me nuts but I will never own a car I don't enjoy.

Life is too short to drive boring beigemobiles.
Link Posted: 8/20/2016 12:02:08 AM EDT
I don't hate it , but I don't necessarily love it either.  2005 Chevy impala with the wimpy 3.4L.  It gets decent gas mileage, has only 88K on the odo, and is paid for (bought cheap as well).  it's had some minor issues, that I fixed myself.  So very cheap as far as maint goes.  AC works great and is plenty big enough for me and my two sons to comfortably take trips in (12 and 13yr olds).

It's fairly clean and I took the hub caps off.  Just a all around blah car.  I will probably give it to my sons as their school and job car.  Don't care if it gets banged up a little.

I have a 1992 mustang GT that is my fun car, and I had a 93 XJ that was a bitch to drive due to being lifted and more offroad than on road ready.

Link Posted: 8/20/2016 12:06:15 AM EDT
I love my current car because it has so many features. I hate that I drive it because the love of my life car died an early death.

$10,000 dollars or so and I'll have my old POS running and can sell the fancy bastard car.

Co. Truck. I fucking hate Garage Mechanics Companion.

Love my truck. Paid for, does everything I need, and my granddad bought it brand new off the lot on 1992 so it has sentimental value. At 330k not sure how much longer it's going to love me back though
Link Posted: 8/20/2016 8:38:04 AM EDT
I like my car, a lot, but it wasn't some mid-life-crisis purchase.  It's a practical vehicle for me that was within my budget.

Sorry arfcom

Life's too short, just like the poll said. I have to drive 40 miles just to get to and from work every day. Back country roads. I drive a Jeep Wrangler since it can handle the roads in the worst weather, and it's fun.
