Everytime I go to Georgia or Florida I buy $5 dollars worth of Big Game and Lotto South. I've been doing this for years. One day I will hit it!

Nope. I'm taxed enough as it is.

I spend 2 bucks a week on powerball. It ain't gonna break me. Who knows, I may hit it someday. You can't win if you don't play.

I have like when the jackpot gets up over $100,000,000.

Haven't bought one in years though.

I don't...i just don't see the point of spending the money on a slim chance of winning.

I am in a pool at work.  A couple bucks a week at a chance to retire?  Hell yes.

I've been known to drop a fiver from time to time.  Maybe 3-4 times a year.

I don't normally buy in on the huge jackpots.  The pool is too big.  If I happen to be getting gas and notice an 8mil jackpot I might put in thinking the ticket holder pool will be smaller.

Every once in a while, I go to get a scratch off ticket from an IL lottery vending machine.
The most i've won
1. $2 and went to get another ticket that I played and came back "Free ticket" and then I went back to redeem my free ticket. Played that and lost.

Yes I do...call it what you want...ya gotta be in it to win it...no matter what the odds...I'd rather waste $5 on a lotto ticket than give it  to some guy with a pocket  full of $$$ on a corner with a sign around his neck that say..." will work for food"...or what ever else it might say

Lottery: A tax on people who are bad at math.

That being said, I'll occasionally drop a fiver on a ticket, just for the shrieks.  Maybe once a month.

I will buy powerball tickets or a scratch ticket every now and again.  Not everyday.

I will buy the scratch tickets and put them in my nephew's birthday cards. One of them actually won $50.
Lotteries are the most regressive tax around.

I hear this bandied around a bit and I'm like to agree if we're talking about people who spend a great deal of money on it.

Personally I see it kindof like playing roulette, grated w/ worse odds.  When I buy a ticket on Monday I get this fun anticipation all week long.  What if I win?  What would I do with all that money?  How do I protect it?  What should I buy my parents?  Should I pay for my sisters college?  Do I quit work and go back to college or just buy a boat and some asian sex slaves?

The fun of the anticipation is worth the $5 in my mind.

I'm good at math, and I play $5 now and again.  I've even done it competitively if that tells you anything.  The jackpot has to be over a certain amount before I'll even entertain it, but it ain't so bad.

I buy a 52 draw Florida Lottery ticket, quick pick and check my winnings, if any, usually none, at www.floridalottery.com.

Our assbackwards state doesn't have the lottery.

I buy two tickets a week for a total of $2.00.  I at least get the satisfaction of thinking what I would do if I won some money.

My uncle won $120,000 (after taxes) on the Illinois Mega Millions game, so for $104.00 a year why not buy a ticket.  I can spend that in a weekend on food and a movie.

I might buy one every once in a while. I have actually known two people who have won  here in GA and in VA. I guy I went to high school with here in GA was one of the first winners in the GA lotto winning $2 million  and I have an uncle in VA that won $70,000. I figure what the hell maybe one day I to can when a few bucks !

I work hard for my money, I'll take the odds of working for what I want. Besides even if I won, I'd still work every day. Although getting my ass kissed by people just because I may have won is sort of appealing
