I was listening to a talk show the other night and the guest said that we do not have stop signs in arabic at our checkpoints in Iraq. He further said that no one but the military know that a closed fist means to stop.

He claimed that was the problem with the Italian journalist and intelligence officer getting wounded and killed the other day.

I find it hard to believe. Anyone been there that can comment?
