I've had my Texas CHL for 5 years now and I have just recently started carrying all of the time. I have finally found the perfect pistol/holster combo for me. I carry a Kahr P9 in a Comp-Tac kydex IWB. I now carry everywhere that is legal. I went to New Mexico 2 weeks ago and felt really vulnerable not having a pistol. Do any of you feel strange without access to a firearm?

The only time I feel naked is when I'm in the shower.

Hmmmmm... That's also the only time I'm not carrying a gun.

Well, one that shoots bullets at least.[}:D]

Naked?  Nope.

The gun's nice, but I'd almost rather disable someone with my hands instead of a bullet.  Nevertheless though, my 9mm does add a bit of that "buffer zone" to my safety.

Yeah, after 26½ years of constant carry, it gets to be a habit.  But I taper off to just a little PPK or S&W Centennial in the pocket of my robe when I take a shower. [:D]

(We're chuckling, but when is Trouble most likely to come to your door?  Late in the evening, when you're relaxing in your robe?)  I always try to have *something* that will help me fight my way to the tritium-sighted, SureFire-equipped XM15-E2S that's under the bed, loaded with real Carl Gustav tungsten-core black-tip.

The last few times I took a plane and had to check our guns in baggage, I felt naked, though I had the 3" razor sharp Spyderco Delica "money-clip" I'd tossed onto the change tray with my bills.  Now, after seeing boxes of confiscated nail clippers, I will NOT take an airline.  I will NOT be treated that way.  [:(!]

Funny, when I'm with a bunch of friends who are all armed to the teeth, I feel safe and relaxed, don't have to worry about harm befalling the kids or anything.  Yeah, I guess the "Liberals" would be like to lock me up for that. (As a Libertarian, I am really the "classic liberal." Today's Left are mostly socialist fools.)

If we take seriously our responsibility as Americans and members of the unorganized militia, to "...be at times armed," we darn well should feel naked without a gun.

"Oppressors can tyrannize only when they can achieve a standing army, an enslaved press, and a disarmed populace."

I went to California this past weekend to visit family and friends, and that's the exact thought that was running through my head. I was having a little taste of Kimber withdrawal.

I have been carrying mine full time ever since  I watched what those Democrats did to that white truck driver during the LA riots. Bricks and my head don't mix. and I won't be so forgiving a victim as that disgraceful, criminal loving apologist either. Bricking heads in the great CONSERVATIVE state of Indiana could be hazardous to your health.
Carrying has actually made me think more about where I go and how I react to everyday disputes with people. I actually take more shit from people now than I used too. Carrying has made me a more responsible citizen. "Carrying is Fundamental"

Definitely.  And I am surprised at how many of you don't carry simply because a state decrees it.

Yes, I do feel nakid w/o a bullet laucncher.  Finally was able to add a smaller piece a Glock M27!  Finally something I could just throw in a belly bag and go. Sometimes I get to missing the famailir weight of the Kimber.

But on the other hand, wouldn't it be nice to live in a place, where there wasn't a need to have a weapon on your person, everywhere you go?  I know it's unrealistic but I would like at some point to not have to worry about having to strap on the equipment before running to the corner store.  Sometimes the responsibility the gun and unfortunately the badge carries, gets to be heavy.

But that's ok, I couldn't imagine doing anything else.  Office and desk, no thanks!  I'll pass! [:)]

I have had my permit for 2.5 years.  I also feel vulnerable when I can not carry my glock 23 with me.

I've been carrying daily for 30+ years...had to think on THAT one!  And I NEVER take a shower or am in the bathroom without a Glock in the same room with me. Isn't that why we carry Glocks??
And how many folks carry when washing the car?

I feel like a deer in the headlights without my .45acp on.

Funny story:  A friend of my family's from Louisiana was visiting my parents for a weekend.  So, I packed up my wife and kids to go to the "grandparents" and see our dear friend as well.  Come dinner time, everyone thought that spicy fried chicken would taste great so my father and I said we'd pick some up at Popeyes.  If you know Houston, this particular Popeyes is next to U of H, in a TERRIBLE part of town that is full of crackheads and criminals.  My dad and I "suited up" with our pistols, spare mags, etc.  The friend from Louisiana had eyes the size of bowling balls...she thought we were going into battle (we were).  We were the only "white meat" in the store that evening too...but weren't "chicken" either!!!  Kind of funny experience.

It has been said that an armed society is a polite society.   The more that I carry, the more I realize the wisdom of this.  I do let more things slide than I did before carrying.  The only time I have ever felt guilty carrying was in church- anybody else ever done this?

I here ya. Of course, even though I live in a state w/ ccw, I won't be gettin one when I turn 21(only 6 months away! Whoo Hoo!!!). I'm not asking permission from the gov't to exercise my right. Luckily my state constitution doesn't say anything about concealed weapons, it just says that RKBA shall not be question.

SR- I don't know about AZ, but in PA you have to be 21 to buy a gun from FFL(I actually think that might be a Federal law), and I don't know anybody who will see me private, which actually is illegal in PA. [:(]
