I was just wondering if anyone has experience with Cryo treatments for an AR?

I want to hand it down to my 6 y.o. when he turns 18.

My barrel/receiver on my M1A were cryotreated. The barrel has much less wear than it should by now. After 5K+ rounds, the throat erosion should be a 5, yet it is only a 3.5. I believe it will make it slightly more wear-resistant.

It's supposed to stress relieve the metal. Dunno about barrel longevity, but it should make the POI change less as the barrel heats up. I've read a few articles by people who had tried it and it yielded positive results for them.

It ain't a bad deal for match rifles.

Had it done to mine and it tightened the groups up a bit.

OTOH, don't listen to these guys that tell you they cryo'd a worn out POS and it shot 1/8" groups afterward.

It's only another tool.
