A pretty fresh take on the aliens come to Earth thing. Alive in Joburg was pretty nifty. Instead of being super powerful aliens that take over Earth, they are what amounts to galactic refugees. Now Peter Jackson is making a film using the Alive in Joburg short as inspiration.

And the source, Alive in Joburg

The guy who did Alive in Joburg was going to be the guy doing the Halo movie, with Jackson before it got put on hold.

Looked like the security force was carrying FN SCAR's in the beginning of the Joburg film when they jumped out of the chopper.

I havent heard of this movie before but it looks good.

Looks pretty interesting, although it might not be an action movie.  Seems kinda like the back story for Alien Nation.
