Hello everyone- it's great to be back on US soil again and in my own home. I'll write more later about my experiences during this war as an AAV gunner/crewchief. I have to go back to my family and friends now, and then start unpacking. I picked up some very cool stuff from Iraq and Kuwait, like a republican guard flag and uniform, a baath party Iraqi flag, Iraqi gas masks, etc. etc. I'll post again later this evening, after I spend some more (umhhmmfm) "quality" time with Mrs. Dissipator. -Diss PS- I can't wait to tell you guys about the awesome effectiveness of the .50 cal SLAP round and the quite diplomatic effects of HEDP... [:>)]

Congratulations, and well done! When you've recovered from your, ahem, "quality time", please give us an after-action report. Write it down too, so you and your kids and grandkids can read about your experiences years from now. My wife's grandfather was a US Navy salvage diver in the Pacific in WWII, but he passed away several years ago. Unfortunately, he never wrote down any of his adventures, and they are lost to us and future generations.

Megadittoes. BTW at my kids' elementary school, another guy who'd just got back from Afghanistan answered some questions from kids, parents and teachers about the war. One parent, a real 60's hippie leftover (raising her abandoned grandchild, it turns out) asked if we could ever win this "long, drawn-out(!) war". "Yes", he answered, "if you liberals don't stab us in the back, like you did in Vietnam." I wasn't there (heard it from my neighbor), but apparently half the place fell silent, then the other half started cheering...

Breaks out a leather chair for Dissapator, folding chairs for everyone else. And lights up some logs stacked in the fireplace. p.s. You even said you'd unpack yourself, didn't ask any of us bench warmers to do it for you. What a guy! [:)]

Thanks for a job well done and welcome back! I can wait for your stories but I have one suggestion for you if your little soldier is too anxious. The little trick is standard over the counter cough syrup IAW the label instructions 45 minuets before. Get the stuff with the dextromorphan hydrobromide (sp?). I can assure you it will keep you active longer especially if its been a few months. Little blue pills only if absolutely necessary. Do not over do it otherwise you will wear you woman out. That or a 100 mile bicycle ride with an ill-fitting seat can make you last all night long.
