My wife bought tickets to Disney before the biometric mess came to light, and she's taking my nieces there the end of the month. Does anyone know if you HAVE to use the readers at Disney to be admitted?

My understanding is only if you are using the multi-day passes. If you by 1 day passes, then no, there will be no need to use them...

sand off their finger prints so the thing does not work?

But to be serious, pretty sure this is a case of their park, their rules. Sorry man. Give them a call and double check though.

It's not finger prints... It's the shape of two of your fingers.

It's a read PITA too, because it won't work half the time... I had my multi-day passes die, three time, and had to go get new ones so I could use the fastpass machines.
