As some of you may know, I don't usually do full on dinner pics with guns and relaods and stuff. Although I have decided to break that tradition, you still will not find a stapler or a measuring device in my pictures.

The steak coming up to room temp with salt and pepper added.

The actual dinner picture

Close ups of the food

The accoutrements:

Sidearm with reload and knife

After dinner drink and smoke

The details. It was a 2lb 1.5" thick porterhouse steak. I let it sit out on the counter to come up to room temperature (approx). I salted and peppered it and then placed directly over the hot coals of a 2 zone fire in my charcoal grill. After quickly searing both sides it was moved to the cooler side of the grill and a chunk of red oak was added .

The steak was removed when the temperature internal temp. was 118 deg and then plated and lightly tented with foil while I prepared to spinach and finished the shrooms.

The gun is an LMT MRP 10.5" CQB. It has a T1 on a LaRue high mount that I added lightening holes to. Vtac sling, Geisselle Trigger, gas buster CH, AAC BO FH, TD QD VFG, Surefire Scout with custom made tape switch pad. Not pictured but part of my kit is a m4-2000 silencer, 3X magnifier, and select fire lower.

Since I've never presented a dinner pic, I don't feel qualified to judge.  I'll just say that although I like my steak cooked much more, that meal looks fantastic.

A little surprised at you having a S&W Knife, not that they don't do the job but I figured you for more of a Strider or some custom folder type, being the discerning gentleman that you are.

Looks good

I have that same garmin and the buttons stopped working after a few months, weird as most people say they are reliable, just my luck, I guess.

Actually I love my benchmades....the Smith is the only auto knife I have.

That Opus X looks like quite the commitment.

That's one of the great things about cigars... they force people to relax, and do nothing else for an hour or more.

Sir,

You just got a hold of a 79mph curve ball, hanging waist high, slightly on the inside part of the plate with the sweet part of the bat. As Im typing its arcing 500ft + into the upper deck.

Woohoo! Awesome. Love spinach, love sauteed mushrooms. Love the flavor of a wood fired grill steak. 10.

I'm glad people are showing the inside cut of the steaks so we can see the done-ness. Critical for judging.

Very observant. I'm single at the moment and when I come from work I look thru them and if there isn;t anything pressing, I stack them on the table until Sunday when I do my on line bill payments

Base score: 8

+1 for greens.
-1 for mushrooms.
+1 for Knob Creek.
-1 for Rogue Dead Guy.
+1 salt and pepper only on what looks to be a good-quality steak.
-1 for the paint? on your pistol.
-1 for all that unneeded stuff. Too cluttered.

Final score: 7/10.

Good.  I've got a few 2005s in my humidor right now!  Age makes all the difference with the Opus X!

- .5 for no glass for the whiskey.  Gentlemen don't drink from the bottle.

+ 1 for communications device.  More practical than a measure device, IMHO.

- .5 for near-raw steak.  Blech.

Still a 10/10.

Can't win with some folks . As I indicated in my preamble, I don't usually do anything but the food and drink and of course some one will point out the lack of a stapler .

That's not paint on the pistol it's the worn off finish. Use your gun (tool) like mine get's used and it will look the same.
