Dinner Pic. Reuben Sandwich, French Onion Soup, and Asparagus
French Onion Soup step by step here: http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=1&f=5&t=1161532 Corned beef brisket (cooked yesterday) on Rye with home-made thousand island dressing, franks kraut, and cheese all tossed under the broiler to get melted and happy. Steamed asparagus with kosher salt and garlic. Spikes Middy, Springfield XD9SC. Sam Adams Nobel Pils with tactical reload in tactical thermal protection armor. Mmmmm.....Flavor..... Time to eat!!! |

-1 for asparagus -1 for rotten cabbage Everything else is WIN. |
|
That's a 10 even though it wasn't grilled.
I love Reuben sandwiches, asparagus and onion soup, separate or together. Try one with pastrami sometime. Nice hardware too. |
|
Onions, cabbage, and asparagus? You're going to smell like a rodent crawled up your urethra and died.

Quoted: 5/10 Reuben's are to be grilled. Yep needs to be grilled or called a sandwich that resembles a Reuben |

That Rueben does not look grilled or greasy enough. I concur! 8/10 |
|
You made it pretty much all from scratch, I'd say that is a win. I'd eat it!!!!
|
|
Quoted: You know a reuben is grilled right? +1...toasted, then grilled is perfection IMO. OP gets a solid 8 for even posting a Reuben facsimile...no better sandwich. Nicely done! 9 with accessories. |

You know a reuben is grilled right? I'll jump on the band wagon with this one. If you don't TOAST the rye how is the cheese gonna be all melty...and shit. |

Ah....see, that's what happens when I don't read the initial post. I DID look at the pictures earlier today and noticed a lack of "Toastiness" (Not a real word BTW) on the bread and just had to jump on it! |

Quoted: -1 for the beer coozie - if you aren't going to drink it fast enough so it stays cold, well.... coozie was for the reload (2nd), I don't guzzle my beer while eating. Maybe I'm doing it wrong. It is not grilled, it was tossed in the 475* oven, bread was crunchy, but yeah, in hindsight it should have been buttered and thrown on a griddle. Mmmmm. |
