I like my Sci Fi , and I thought this example to be pretty good. What say ye?

Pretty good, yeah...

especially based on the plot.

Seemed impossible that I'd make it past the first 2mins, but I was surprised and enjoyed it.

It was definitely different, at first I had a pretty poor impression but ended up liking it.  I've just had one too many Beowulf spin offs.

Connery makes every movie he's in good.

Outlander was a sci fi movie from 2008; it was about an alien who landed in Scandanavia, in, say, the early Iron Age.

Outland was the Sean Connery SF movie about the cop on one of Jupiter's moons; movie was based on  the old Gary Cooper Western movie, "High Noon."

Actually, I was thinking of Outland
It was released in 1981, Sean Connery is a marshal looking for drug smugglers.

Outlander. Pretty good flick. Just watched it this past weekend. Seemed to parallel 13th Warrior some, but a good watch.

Definitely recommended for a rental.

Outland was good; Kind of Blade Runner-ish.

I've liked science fiction for almost 60 years but I felt stupid for watching Outlander.

I gave it a 1 on IMDB.

When the glowy dragon-thing was revealed fully in the scene where it chomped the priest out in front of the whole village, it reminded me strongly of the classic "Id monster" from Forbidden Planet.

Also, good first line.  :gasp: "Fuuuuuucccckkkk!"

I hated it.  Worst acting I've seen in a long time.
