I did, and took a friend from work so that he could sight in his 'huntin' rifle'  Had a good time and I think I made another AR15 convert after he put a magazine or two downrange.  He had his camera and took a picture of yours truly.    Yeah!

Could be... beats me.  Elbow down was taught to me in the Army, with no real explaination.

Because I have a tendency to want to do that, bring my elbow up like that, it's rather comfortable to me with my AR.  I have a winchester .22 lever action though, that I of course don't shoot like that.  I think I do that with the AR because I keep the stock fully collapsed when I shoot, so that makes me want to bring my elbow up.

I was just curious though what the downside is to it.  If any.

I thought elbow up was taught to soldiers who used the '03 and the Garand to take the recoil more effeicently...

Elbow down so you don't get stuck in doorways.

I can’t speak for cnorton, of course, but obviously you wouldn’t want clear a corner with an appendage leading like that since it would telegraph your position.

Don’t see anything wrong with when just blasting per se, other than developing a very bad tactical habit.

My understanding is that bone-on-bone would be something like the tip of your elbow on the bony part of your knee, where things would tend to wobble around a bit.

A word of advice. If you like to shoot. NEVER become a gunsmith. All your time is spent working on other peoples toys and the only shooting you get to do is a function fire, Or and occational sight in.

SO NO I HAVENT GOT TO SHOOT. DAMNIT I NEED A FIX! IM JONEZIN HERE, GETTING THE SHAKES... AAAAKKKKK

Or a range officer!!

At the end of the day, everyone else goes off to clean their firearms.  But that’s not a problem for you since none of yours have been fired!

Our club had a Turkey Shoot today so went to support that. Aferwards got to break in my new CETME from Knob Creek, compared the shot groups to my AR-10, tried some 9mm sub-sonic out of the Hi Point Carbine (very quiet), and let the boys and girls blast away with the MAC10 both suppressed and unsuppressed. Went through a few hundred rounds today and it was good.

Yup, shot my Beretta 8000 for my class and during the break shot the boyfriend's SKS.  Would have shot the Ar-15, but we ran out of time.

LOL...some chick decided to blame my boyfriend for pushing guns on his "little girlfriend"...like I didn't want to shoot or something.  Oh yeah, and she said that guns and relationships don't mix.

She obviously doesn't know a damn thing about me or my boyfriend.

Did anyone actually shoot today?

I relaxed this day, I fired only the following quantities:

600 rounds of .45 Super.
180 rounds of 7.62 x 51. (M1A, AWP)
Whimped out on Not shooting my normal routine which would also include the following:
8.6
12.7
Perhaps age is catching up upon me, pffft, that'll be the day, the weather sucked.

I did.

Got my first ragged hole (8 rounds)
with my 20" A2 with irons @ 50yds
BR - I know, know, only 50yd, but
my eyes suck at 100yds.

Tried out some NATO 9mm for my
CZ75B - FTE on my second round.
I love that handgun, but
it will not extract anything other than
Fiocchi.

Cleaning up my new Enfield #4mk1
for a range trip next week.

I just got back from the range about an hour ago. It was raining, but not crowded and we had a blast!

My friend is the ultimate gun nut!

He's the one who talked me into getting a Kimber 45. We shot  100 rounds then moved on to his arsenal.

Glock 19 - 1st time I've shot one. Good action, didn't like the trigger feel
Desert Eagle 50 - Oh my freaking god! It was a hoot. Now I know why he wears a padded glove when he fires that thing. My hand is still tingling.heavy.
Cheers,
Landog

Ya, about an hour before dark I worked on a Norinco P.O.S. Uzi. It belongs to a friend who doesn't know much about guns. He bought it because he thought he got a good deal ($500) from a guy who was hurtin' for money. It won't feed properly. I fiddled with the mag & the mag catch and it appears I'm getting it closer to functioning better.  It'll run about 5 rounds now before it jams.  That's an improvement over jamming every round. I'll polish the feed ramp a bit & have a go at it tomorrow.

If you have a choice between a Norinco & a root canal, go for the root canal!

The kids and I shot about 150 rounds of 22 out of their Chipmunks, the Ruger Single Six, and the Ruger 22 auto. We got a new steel target with four targets and then a reset target to we don't have to walk down range. I love those kids. My eight year old runs her Chipmunk like a pro.

Found 2 rusty cans of green beans in the pantry so i took my 9 year old son out back to shoot them.

The first can took him 4 shots of .357 to hit one and 3 from my 1991a1 to hit the second.

Learned something today too: green beans aren't as impressive as creamed corn when hit with a .357 or a .45 Gold Dot round.
