Tried a little slide milling.

Here it's on the gun, trying to decide whether to polish or finish to match the gun.

Link Posted: 4/27/2014 6:05:39 PM EDT
i like it, what happened on the front end tho?

i think it would look sweet if you made it match the rest of the gun.
Link Posted: 4/27/2014 6:06:32 PM EDT
Neat

That shouldnt compromise the integrity of the slide, will it?
Link Posted: 4/27/2014 6:07:06 PM EDT
Not afraid messing with slide weight might affect functionality?
Link Posted: 4/27/2014 6:07:09 PM EDT
I see that and think... Chicken pox.
Link Posted: 4/27/2014 6:07:27 PM EDT
Just the pattern the CNC mill ran, visible but it's smooth as silk
Link Posted: 4/27/2014 6:09:44 PM EDT
It's your shit and you can do what you want with it, but it begs the question: why?
Link Posted: 4/27/2014 6:10:41 PM EDT
thats a great idea why doesnt Glock do it?
Link Posted: 4/27/2014 6:11:38 PM EDT
Fragmentation lines?

Now you can call it a GLOCK 40.
Link Posted: 4/27/2014 6:13:04 PM EDT
It's a Open class gun, the other recess in the back is for a Burris FFlll

Doesn't affect reliability (springs will correct it )

does affect muzzle flip,

does not compromise integerity

The first question I always ask customers when gathering requirements, "What is it you're trying to accomplish?"

Let's see......how can I make the worlds ugliest gun even uglier?   I know, let me get out my soldering iron.

I knew it was going to be a 40. Should make nice shrapnel when it

Link Posted: 4/27/2014 6:16:51 PM EDT
Looks good. What's the address I need to send mine to?
Link Posted: 4/27/2014 6:17:10 PM EDT
Looks better than a factory Glock.
Link Posted: 4/27/2014 6:17:46 PM EDT
You got a steady hand on that Dremel son, what else are you going to do with that pistol ?

So are you loads that just barely make power factor or are you going to use a heavier spring?
Link Posted: 4/27/2014 6:19:42 PM EDT
Looks nice, and as everyone is asking, does it still work?

dear God, the stippling.

I like the slide though. I would have used some cues from the factory cuts and radiuses though

Link Posted: 4/27/2014 6:20:25 PM EDT
That is one HELL of a compensator

I like it .

Light loads, only shoot outlaw 3gun, no PF worries

Lightening the slide reduces the mass and the weight.  Bet the slide moves faster now than before.  I would check the slide weight against that of sort barrel version of the same caliber.  If it's just as heavy, it should be good to go.

Sweet. Puff loads in a open gun are fun. I have a friend who can run his Infinity so fast the last case is coming out of the ejection port as the first one hits the ground.
