I guess this thread, if it becomes popular, could be a way to find out where someone is from just by listening to them talk.

I have one question though:

Where do people refer to you as, "Boss"? I work at the Orlando International Airport and travelers always say, "Thanks Boss". Is this New York talk?

Anyway, from my time growing up near Philadelphia, I can tell you people around there pronounce 'water' 'wooter'. I also know that Brits call a car trunk a 'boot' and a truck a 'lorry'.

I'm from PA Dutch country, most people there talk with a PA Dutch accent

ie: "How now brown cow" would sound like "Haw naw brawn cawh"

What you've got there is failure to communicate. Some men you just can't reach.

No they specifically use 'Boss'.

It might be a prison thing, but most of the guys don't have any visible tattoos and are usually with their family.

I've heard that a lot in south Georgia.

Interesting thread. Funny too. I have always viewed America, (US), Great Britain, and Australia as a like people separated by a common language. TT
