Stranded on a deserted island with only three guns. Which would be the best choices for maintenance, durability & usefulness?

1) Stainless Ruger Mini-14 (are there stainless AR's?)

2) Mossberg Marine Pump, no rust (incl 12GA. flare ammo.

3) Blackened Stainless Sig 229 with 9mm, .40 and .357 Sig barrels.

if it was a deserted island who would you need to shoot?

Hmm.
Well, Long range, a nice Watervleit 16" bore cannon..

And for a bit closer in ,and anti air, a handy little Skysweeper 90MM radar guided autocannon..

Then a GAU-8 set up as a CIWS rig for annoyances in light craft, or small boats.. Or seagulls. I hate seagulls..

On a truly deserted island:
One of the lightweight, very simple but ruggedly reliable BREAKOPEN action type shotguns/comboguns in stainless steel or marine coating. 12 or 20 guage, your choice.
That's all you really need, as boring as it is.
That's what I'd ask for.

The Mini 14?
Totally unnecessary firepower of semiauto. More parts to clog and maintain.

The MOSSBERG Pump? Best choice of three, but still too cumbersome.

The Sig 229??!!
Can't think of a more useless gun for our scenario. Three very similar calibers with three barrels--who cares in the jungle?
A Cold Steel Spear is more useful.

12 ga.  It's rust resistant, you can make fire with it easily, its barrel and mag tubes can be used as condenser parts for a still, plus it'll serve as a crutch, paddle or club.

Also you didn't say whether the other guns had any ammo. [NI]

#1 - EAA IZH-94 Combo in 12 ga & 30/06 or .308 with a Savage Arms "four-tenner" .410 adaptor and a CZ .22lr adapter.

#2 - Ruger KGP-100 .357 mag.

#3 - Because of the above don't need another gun but would take a good take-down recurve bow + arrows instead.

My opinions of course.

Depends on what I need. I.E. How far is the animal/person/terrorist from me.

Changed my mind, for wildlife purposes and possible bad guys, I would substitiute the Mini-14 Stainless for a Ruger Stainless M77. I would also switch the Sig pistol for a Ruger bolt action .22 rifle. Both the rifles would have both scoped and iron sights.

Only 1000 rounds per gun, with 100 12 GA flares.

One of the worst problems I would have is not shooting up all my ammo in the first month.

I like the idea of the Recurve bow, throw in a good fishing rig for it.
S&W629, because I can hit at 100 yards with it.
Winchester 1300 defender .
The knife is a givin, my K-bar.
I own these weapons and trust them.
If it's alright I would kind of like to take my wife too:)

I'm still sticking with the shotgun. It would be easier to reload the shells.
