Oh man, I don't know why but I got a kick out of that story.
Not that I think the officer getting shot is funny, (or anyone for that matter) or that I would wish it upon anyone...
But the whole mental image just seems comical to me...
"Another one of those drive by arrowings!"
And how did they catch the guy? Did the Californians make a little known law that requires anyone to register all their bows and arrows and put them into a ballistic fingerprint database when I wasn't looking?

"ALISO VIEJO, Calif. (CBS) An Aliso Viejo man remained jailed on $1 million bail Monday for allegedly firing an arrow that pierced the calf of an Orange County sheriff's deputy.
Tri Thanh Lam, 44, was arrested Sunday on suspicion of attempted murder, one day after the deputy was struck, said Jim Amormino of the Orange County Sheriff's Department.
The Orange County District Attorney's Office said Lam has not been charged. He is scheduled to make his first court appearance Tuesday, a jail clerk said.
The deputy had stopped a female motorist Saturday and was issuing her a warning at about 5:30 p.m. on Aliso Creek Road, between Hummingbird Lane and West Wing, Amormino said.

As it's pretty tough to sneak out of a vehicle... climb a hill unnoticed with a bow and arrow, and shoot an officer, all within the time it takes to issue a warning
[red]A patrol car camera captured an image of the hunting arrow as it came from a southeast direction[/red] and sank deep into the deputy's right calf, Amormino said.

Dang, the video captured the evil arrow coming from that direction? Sounds like the officer could have used a daring sidekick like the crocidile hunter guy to deal with these unpredictible critters.
The tape shows the deputy removing the arrow, which fractured a bone in his leg, Amormino said.

As opposed to cuffing her and arresting her for assisting the archer?
