Im wanting to get a dell 19"HD ready tv to play my XBOX on. My question is, if the tv is hd ready does that mean that i can buy some component cables and play my xbox on it in HD? Or do i need to buy somehting else with the tv to make it play in HD. This tv will not be used for cable or satilite TV. Gaming only. Thanks.

I dont think it will actually be true HDTV, more like a progressive scan DVD player?

well, it says in the descriprtion that it has high resolutions and it can double as a computer moniter. This sounds to me like troy is correct.

I am talking about the xbox, not the moniter. In order to get real "high def" the xbox has to play in "high def" (digital) which I dont "think" it does.

On the newer games some say 720 p and 480 p with a HDTV.

Is it a LCD or Plasma? If so I think image "burn in" from a game is an issue.
