I drink lots of water every day.  I usually piss about every hour and a half or so I would guess.  I usually wake up once a night to piss also.  However, last week, for a period of about 3 days, I had an UNQUENCHABLE thirst.  My lips cracked, and no matter how much water I drank, it wasn't enough.  Consequently, I was also pissing every 10-15 minutes.

After about 3 days, everything returned to normal.

I don't know what brought this on.  Never really happened to me before.  I can't place anything I may have done or eaten that was any different.  I had no other symptoms of any illness.

Has anyone here had any experience with something like this?

In order to be fully hydrated, you need to be drinking AT LEAST one gallon of water a day if your a male. You need to remember, you're pissing a lot of that water out so you will need to compensate.

If it all returned to normal, I wouldn't worry too much. Eat something with a lot of MSG?

Don't forget to add some electrolytes.

It's what plants crave.

uh....no.  You're pissing because you're drinking so much fucking water.  Think back to caveman days....you think they drank a gallon of water a day?  I don't think so.

Winner, you could be flushing your body of much needed electrolytes.

You are low on salt.  Your body is taking in water but it is not making it into your cells.  Take one teaspoon of sea salt.  wash it down with a glass of water.

Hyperglycemia (high blood sugar) can cause these symptoms.  Can you obtain a blood sugar monitor to test your fasting sugars and non-fasting sugars?

My blood pressure is always very good.  I see a doctor every 3-4 months and have my blood checked at the same intervals.   He never mentioned any abnormalities regarding blood sugar or anything.  The only thing I am treated for is high triglycerides, which have been fine for the past 4-5 years.

This, I am worried about very much.  Only thing is that it has only happened once and went away after a few days.

ETA: I also have no other symptoms and no family history.

And that had nothing to do with how much water they drank… Hell, back then, drinking the water is probably what killed them.

The amount of water you need every day depends on what you eat and how much you sweat. It’s not some fixed amount for every person. And unless you are eating lots of salt and/or sweating constantly, it’s nowhere near a gallon a day.
