Just ordered a kit and lower for $477 OTD. These are the 7.62x39 ARs. Kit normally listed at $599 but is $299 today, plus $139 for the stripped lower.

any direct experience? I have read mixed results on this platform with operation (feed issues, etc).

Seems like the price is right though

ETA: upper kit + stripped lower plus regular AR buffer/stock, pistol grip is all that is needed? Magpul AR mags? or surplus steel mags?

The bolt carrier drags on the feed lips of the magazines, so it's very easy for it to get bound up and malfunction. Some steel magazines won't even work without modifying the bolt carrier or the magazines.

It's a typical piece of half thought-out half assed half-baked PSA garbage.

No direct experience. I've built 10+ PSA AR kits and never had troubles, so I am going on faith that these are decent quality as well. Looks like you can use any regular AK mags.
