Why do I want that? Serious question. Raven is good shit. They were the pioneers in the kydex game. Apparently they struck gold in their pioneering stages and started pricing their products like they were made from it. |

That would be nice, I have a couple already and just ordered 4 more. If I can scrape the gold off I can get more than my money back! View Quote Been doing kydex holsters and sheaths for around 4 years now. I guess I need to start doing mag carriers! They do appear to have a retention screw which you don't see very often on a kydex mag holder. |

poor person option. |

I'm still kicking myself for missing their previous overrun of the rifle/pistol mag carriers.
If anybody has an extra one of those send me a pm. |

Personally,
I have one on my belt for the occasions when I have one of my ARs and I'm tooling around my land and the vast areas of national forest adjacent to it. To your point earlier, it's a hell of a lot more practical and convenient to have one or two of these on your belt for such things than walking around your back 40 (or 4000 as the case may be ) in a plate carrier or chest rig with molle mag pouches. what would be the typical setup for RH shooter rounds pointing forward or backward?
|
|
|
Probably not. It sounds a LOT like some CA LE acquaintances I've made over the years that sneer at "civilians" that have or buy anything besides a .38 and a 10/22. I mean almost word for word. Even worse are some of the CO's which always struck me as odd because they aren't cops but sometimes come off like they are uber-cops. It's weird.
Oh well. The nice thing about this experiment in democracy of ours is that you can have whatever you wish for whatever reason you wish and you don't have to justify it to anyone but yourself. Quoted:

Kinda want two so I can operate without a carrier on a normal belt instead of looking ghetto fab with a reload mag in the jeans pocket...but I dunno. $20... Back left pocket like a boss! Man has ACOG and home build AR with Geissele and Larue parts...won't splurge on $20 mag holder...Priorities. |

I haven't bought an ATV yet. I have been borrowing a neighbors the last couple of times. I need to get off my ass and do my research and get my own so I can stop freeloading (although I have paid "rent" in the form of a couple of cases of his favorite whisky ). I still do a lot of walking because I enjoy the exploration and occasional plinking that goes with it. I'm too lazy to walk back to the ATV if I'm a half mile away and decide I want to keep shooting lol.
As for the overall justification thing, you're catching flak because you sort of come off like someone who looks down at people who like "tactical" crap. I get that to a certain extent because the whole thing of people walking around square ranges in full cammies, a plate carrier, chest rig, and a shemagh has gotten a little extreme in recent years. It strikes me as odd only because I'm acutely aware that aside from enough training over the years to just barely not be dangerous to those around me, I personally have no business in a getup like that because I'm too old and too risk averse to play at that kind of shit. Still, I live and let live. I can see where you might find it irritating, especially if you're in the peace officering bidness. See my reply to the guy that called you a FUDD for details. Quoted:
