[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Damn you, George Lucas...

I just flipped the channel over to SpikeTv to watch "The Empire Strikes Back". It is a scene right in the middle of the Battle for Hoth. Now, I am not sure if it is just me, but I swear a music track has been added to this scene. And, not only is the music so dramatic, it is also so loud that it is drowning out the dialogue.

This was a great scene, one of my favorites when i was a kid. I didn't need overly dramatic music to tell me that the stakes were high, the action on screen did that for me.

So in closing, I hate you, George Lucas, for ruining yet another part of these once great movies.

I have the DVDs that come with the theatrical cuts on "bonus discs," which is the reason I bought them. I've never seen the re-release, and I never intend to. I threw those discs in the trash.

I have the 2006 DVD's that are the original versions, too, but they're 4:3. I was 16:9, dammit.

My folks bought me the bluray set for my birthday earlier this year, I've only watched the special feature stuff. I haven't touched the movies.

I was watching it earlier and I could have swore some dialogue was completely different but I haven't watched my THX VHS copies in probably 10 years so who the fuck knows anymore.
