Ah another chigger victim and your nut sack chigger villiage.Use deepwoods off, not sparingly, and sulfur put the sulfur in a sock and tie the end beat on you and what ever you dont want to have chiggers. I hate them bitches. If your already chomped up use ammonia and it will kill them which will help with the itching, but it will burn the nutsack village vietnam style. I was invaded sunday and we took my villiage back by thursday. Today, SAT., Im OK.

Years ago, when I was a lowly combat medical specialist, I had a MSC officer who was a pharmacy student.  He made a concoction that worked in 1-2 days!  Add a couple of ounces of Chig-A-Rid in a bowl, crush up about a dozen aspirins (not tylenol!), and add a splash of Camphophenique (sp?).  Mix well, and apply to chiggered over areas.  It does tend to sting a bit, but it kills them, and keeps the itching down.

Chigger!  Wha'd you call me???!

What the hell is a chigger?  I have never seen them but I sure have felt them.  Do they really nest?   Are they the original "Ankle Biter."

oh i hate 'em. i grew up in the country and was always gettin 'em on me. we were running an electrical line across a creek at work the last two weeks and i got 'em again. long pants and boots help, but not a lot. they are blood suckers (parasites) and the juice they secrete is what makes them itch so bad. they are smaller than the period at the end of this sentence. did i mention i hate 'em.

I am taking my super liberal GF to Texas tomorrow, and I'm gonna introduce her to chiggers and mosquitos, and see if the little bastards can suck out the tainted liberal blood that affects the way she thinks sometimes! Going to Houston, and I heard they have a mighty fine crop of skeeters from the flood a couple weeks ago.

Up here in NYS we got those black flies in the Adirondacks.  Those things are on top of the food chain there.  There are no fish that eat there eggs and larva.  No significant amount of birds to eat them during the day.  When the sun goes down, then it's the domain of the mosquitos.  We also got deer flies, moose flies and deer ticks.  Those deer flies always attack you from behind.  If you are sensitive to their saliva, when they bite, lets say an ankle,  it can swell up and hurt as if you sprained it.  They are also hard to kill.  I've swatted them off me, stomped them on the ground afterwards, and I've seen them fly right back in the air.  It seems when you stomp them, you have to give it a twist.  Then they stay dead. 410's work on them too.

HOW TOO GET RID OF CHIGGERS ON YOUR "PRIVATE PARTS"

You'll need a razor, matches, and an icepick.

Firstly, use the razor to shave one half of the infested area.

Next, use the icepick to poke at the chiggers who are in the shaven area.  The idea here is to make them all run into the "brush" (the half you didn't shave).

Once you've ran them all into the brushy area, quickly use the match to start it on fire.  The resulting inferno should eradicate the viscious little varmits.

(I've heard this also works for "cooties" and "crabs" too.)

I grew up in Oklahoma, chigger and tick, and mosquito country..thank God I live in northern New Mexico now.. I've had 4 or 5 ticks in the last 15 years...no chiggers, and only a few mosquito bites each year..  However, I see my family in Okla. when on vacation and get my share then...

Use the Deepwoods off or any other commercial spray. Avon Skin-So-Soft either the bath oil or lotion applied before going out will also kep them off. Dont know whats in it but by golly it works. Some of the linemen at work used to buy those cattle ear tags that are treated with repellant and lace them into their boots. Not much you can do after being bit though. Scratch, make a sore, and wait for it to heal.[:O]
