Chicago Mayor Daley Hospitalized

CHICAGO (AP) - Mayor Richard Daley was taken to a hospital Thursday night after feeling faint while having dinner with his family, his spokeswoman said.

Daley was undergoing tests at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and was expected to stay overnight, said spokeswoman Jacqueline Heard.

Hospital spokeswoman Amanda Widtfeldt said preliminary tests came back normal.

Daley was hospitalized with chest pains in 2000. Doctors determined he had a mild case of hypertension, or high blood pressure.

Hypertension... might have relieved that a little if he was able to carry a concealed handgun in some of those Chicago neighborhoods.
